Balancing pickup volume on HSS Strat

I have an HSS Stratocaster and I'm trying to find a good balance between the neck single coil & bridge humbucker pups. I like both sounds but the single coil neck pickup just sounds weak in comparison.

Any advice for finding a good middle ground? Thanks.

I was wondering why my MIM stratocaster won't stay in tune, and I noticed all the bridge saddles are worn with visible grooves on them. This obviously isn't good. What's the best course of action to fix this? Thanks.

I have a Fender Player Stratocaster that goes out of tune after only a few minutes of playing. There doesn't seem to be any logic as to which strings go flat and which go sharp, it's completely random. I changed the strings a few weeks ago (this issue was happening with the old strings, too) and put pencil lead in the nut slots, to no effect. The guitar was set up by a luthier about a year ago.

I've got 9-46 strings on the guitar, I believe it had 9-42s from the factory. Could the heavier bass strings be binding in the nut? It's strange that it would affect the treble strings as well, but I guess the floating bridge might explain it.

Any advice besides just taking it to the shop?
