Kinderhook Bugle

Today’s event… Stephentown Typewriter Company is helping with a recreation of the Kinderhook Bugle. We re-created the “newsroom” with vintage typewriters while young children reporters are out gathering their stories to come back and type them up later!

Time passes on…

Picked up a Hermes Rocket today…original sales receipt, manual, and warranty still in the case. I’m sure this gentleman has passed on, but it amazes me what treasures we find in our quest for typewriters! Stephentown Typewriter Company #hermesrocket

1942 Royal U.S. Navy

The seller had this listed as a “parts machine” and I decided to take a gamble after consulting with Everett E. Henderson Jr. and chatting back and forth, I decided to buy it. Luckily for me it paid off. The only thing wrong was the drawband was disconnected and the ribbon vibrator was gummy, there was a shift bind and a couple of keys were sticking. All easy fixes.
Only 56,000 of these machines were made in WWII and I am now the proud custodian of one! It will remain in my collection. I’d like to think my Dad who was in the Navy possibly typed on one of these. What an incredible find! I feel blessed! #stephentowntypewriterco
