My newest rescue Baby Jane Dove

May I introduce you to my newest rescue pigeon whom I named Baby Jane Dove. I previously also had a pair of siblings that I named Huckleberry and Santos (their dynamic was surprisingly fitting - Santos was very protective of her little sibling). Do you have any other Pitt-related name suggestions for future rescues?

Please share your experiences with squab sibling behaviour

These two are Santos (in the back) and Huckleberry. They are feral pigeons that I rescued from a supermarket's bin room. They are generally healthy and curious and have just started flying and causing havoc in my living room 😊

I was wondering if any of you have experience with young pigeon sibling behaviour, mostly because I find their dynamic really interesting.

The younger one (Huckleberry) is pretty timid but also VERY excited about food. So much so that after his first feeding he pretty much immediately accepted me as his new mum and seems to really like me (he gets excited when he sees me or hears my voice) Santos is a lot more distrustful, eats completely independently and is very protective of her little sibling. She hits me when I get too close to her but is also curious and occasionally likes to get pretty close to me in order to stare at me. They are pretty sweet to each other and Huckleberry often follows Santos around.

What I am wondering about the most is the extent to which Huckleberry seems to like me - and how differently he behaves from his sister. I've only had pretty independent or aggressive foster pigeons before, which I've always seen as a good sign for their future in a flock.

(Note: I say she and her / brother and sister but I have no idea what sex they are)
