Creator Updates is now in Alpha
Hey everyone!
If you've ever published a scenario or world and wished you had a way to tell people what changed — or you've followed a creator and wondered whether that world you love is still being worked on — this one's for you.
What it is
Creators now have an Updates tab on their profile, and creations get one too. From there, creators can:
- Post updates — patch notes, announcements, works-in-progress, whatever you want to share. Markdown is supported, and you can link a post to a specific scenario, world, or mod so it shows up right on that content's page.
- Ask the community questions — idea request posts can include a poll (up to 4 options), so you can let players vote on what you build next. You can change your vote if you change your mind.
- Share an update while publishing — when you republish a creation, there's now an option to attach an update note right in the publish flow, so your changelog goes out the moment your changes do.
Players can like posts, jump into comment threads, vote in polls, and copy a link to share a specific update. There's also a card on the home page that surfaces the latest update from creators you follow.
Why we built it
Creators put a lot of ongoing work into their creations, and right now most of that work is invisible — a world can get a major overhaul and players would never know. We want the connection between creators and their players to be a living thing, not a one-time publish. This is the foundation for that.
A few things to know while testing
- Polls are fixed once published — you can't edit the options after people have voted (votes should always mean what they meant when they were cast).
- Followers don't get notified about new posts yet. That's coming — we wanted to get the posting and feedback loop right first before we start pinging people.
- No images in posts yet — text, links, and lists only (images come with moderation implications we want to handle properly). If images are something you'd want, let us know!
- This is Alpha, so expect some rough edges. That's what you're here for :)
What we'd love from you
Post an update, run a poll, comment on someone's changelog, try the publish-flow note — and tell us where it feels clunky, confusing, or missing something. Comments here or in Discord both work great.
Thanks for helping us test, as always. Excited to see what you all share.
