Here’s the current collection of victory rugs I’ve made from this season's Sounders wins! Each one shows a bit of a highlight from the game.
I have two more I’ll be making from this past week: Gomez vs KC and Dotson from yesterday. Thanks everyone for all the idea help! This has been a fun project.
Which is your fav so far?
It’s been a minute since our last victory post, but here’s a celebratory piece for Wednesday’s win over RSL on frame still. I made a moose inside a soccer crest, with a little baby moose to celebrate he and his wife’s new baby arrival last week!
For this week‘s game vs MIN, I want to do a Morris rug. But I haven’t nailed down the design idea yet.
So if you have ideas drop them below!
The baby moose was a community addition. Thanks for the assist.
MLS is back this week!!
This rug commemorates the Sounders’ last win. The 3-2 win against San Jose on May 13th, sealed by De Rosario’s 89th minute game winner. And Nouhou’s awesome assist.
Watching the World Cup over the last month got me thinking about how important roots are, so I made the Guyana flag in the background to honor DeRo's country he represents.
Should've gone with "Freed Balogun" in hindsight, but either way, he's back tomorrow! Huge win for the USA.
I’m making a custom victory rug for EVERY USMNT World Cup win. Started with the 4-1 opening match and the Waldo jerseys!
Here’s how I made it.
Just wrapped up the main work on this victory rug to celebrate the 4-1 opening win! 🇺🇸 Snapped a quick photo while it’s still on the frame while gluing the back.
It still needs a bit of detailed carving around the faces to really crisp up the features, but the Waldo jerseys and celebrations are complete.
Decided to immortalize the iconic moments from last week's victory into a rug. 4 feet wide
Got the kits, background, and text blocked in. Hoping to get the rest of the it done by tonight!
Super fun making this design. I had the kits line up, and added the stars, so if you squint, it looks like a USA flag.
Victory rug #6: The Jesus rug for the 2-1 win over his former team Dallas.
Almost caught up on the Sounders victory rugs. Working on the de-ro one from Wednesday next to this one on the frame.
Hoping for 3 more points and another design this weekend.
I recently had the incredible opportunity to design a custom rug for Cristian Roldan to celebrate his 400th appearance. And! I even got to hand-deliver it to him. He loved the ‘2 on the way’ one and already had a spot in mind to put his 400th one at his house.
A huge shoutout to Danny from marketing for making that happen! Nouhou has already put in his request for what his design should be, and it was great having Coach Brian look over all winnings designs. Such a rewarding experience! Hyped to keep this series going. less
