feeling burnt out

i’ve been producing for a while now and have released a couple of EPs and have some more on the way.

I’m currently at a point where i feel like most of my tracks revolve solely around a bleepy or a filter modulated lead. I constantly compare my tracks to my main references to (ORBE, Translate, Oscar Mulero, Rene Wise, Mathys Lenne, etc…) and my tracks just always feel sorta flat and not alive. This demotivates me and makes me feel burnt out in a way.

What are some techniques that I can use to have my tracks sound more professional and have more defining characteristics?

(venting out a bit but it’s been bothering me a lot)

VST similar to Syntrx ii

I wanted to know if their are any VST/plugins similar to erica synths syntrx ii. i know there’s an emulation for reaktor, however it’s terrible and extremely glitchy.

thanks!

ORBE lowend

Hi, i’ve been trying to experiment and imitate ORBE low and as i love how deep and fast paced it feels. I’ve tried different compressors, kicks, toms, distorted sounds, etc.

However, always fall flat. I’m not sure if he’s using a specific pattern or such but any insight would help.

*FYI not trying to copy him exactly and steal his sound. I just want to understand his fundamental then mold it to how envision techno.*

Monitor + Headphones recommendations

  1. Been producing for a while now and my Presonus Eros 3.5 aren’t cutting it anymore; great speakers for the price but not for me. I have a budget of around <$500, I will mainly use the speakers for the final steps of production/mixdown before it gets sent to mastering. i’ve been looking at Genelec and Adam audio monitors as I see most big producers use it. My main goal is to have these monitors give me as close as possible sound to how it sounds in clubs (while balling on a budget - Not open to sound treating room).

  2. Also looking to upgrade from my AT m50x (my daily’s ) headphones to BD DT990 solely for production & mixdown; budget <$300. Im looking to do this as the AT are very bassy and aren’t giving me as clear a mix or just too bassy.

Any recommendations are welcome
