Naming conventions.

Are there any people out there who are through the journey enough now that they don’t use the name for their parts anymore and understand that they’re just parts of us, not actual people?

I still use collective words such as ‘We’ when I am confused as to who I am but have noticed that I’ve stopped saying ‘She’ and ‘Him’ unless I’m in therapy doing EMDR or doing parts work.

I’ve been reading a lot of subreddits where people are still referring their the names parts and it kinds of makes me lonely as I am in the part of my recovery where I am very well aware that all of it is ‘Me’. It’s always been ‘Me’ no matter what part fronts.

Unsavoury parts; sub. use.

Does anyone have issues dealing with the ‘unsavoury part’ to the ‘savoury part’?
I’m in a part who thrives off being mellow from marji. because she’s super high functioning.
The problem w this is that my more analytical part will notice it and try get her ‘unsavoury part’ which is stimulants to try and ‘join the party’.

I find it difficult to keep an eye of my parts when I’m in substance abuse; and also have to keep an eye that I also don’t get too overtly cheerful as it can cause me to dissociate.

Who else struggles w substance abuse whether in particular happy parts and also weird states?!

Sleep switches

Is there anyone else who fears going to sleep sometimes because they can switch in their sleep without realising until the next morning?

I trauma process in my sleep which is great cos it saves me on therapy sessions where I can be working on something else but when I’m in a ‘good’ part I try to stay awake as long as I can as I can switch during my sleep. However it’s a contradiction too due to the fact if I don’t sleep then my therapy sessions go a different way as my psych doesn’t want to do EMDR if I’m sleep deprived.

If there’s anyone who has this issue, how do you reassure yourself that it’s okay to sleep or prep yourself just in case you do switch at night?
