My DEX setup with the S26 Ultra

Hey again guys, I think i'm too in it now...

Last time, I posted my reviews of PUBG Mobile, COD Mobile, and Genshin Impact on the S26 Ultra. Yesterday I took it a step further after people recommended using controllers and accessories, and used a USB-C to HDMI cable to connect to my monitor, along with keyboard and mouse.

I was happy with what I did, and tried PUBG and Genshin Impact again to push the limits of the setup. I played for like 2 hours and had an interesting session. The S26 Ultra is a powerhouse, and was able to handle them really well on the big screen.

Now my biggest insight for this trial was that, for productivity, the setup was perfect. Basically if I need a laptop (but don't want to buy one) for work and daily life stuff (Microsoft Office, Youtube, research, LLMs) it would suffice very well.

Are there any ways to upgrade my setup even further?

Snowy Dubai

I remember before the age of AI, there was a photo that was circulating online that was Photoshopped to show Dubai covered in snow. I’ve been looking since yesterday and I couldn’t find it online so I decided to try if I could do it myself on AI Edits on my S26 Ultra and this is what I came up with.

Does anyone remember the picture or is it just me? It was pretty cool because this is something we never see in Dubai because obviously it’s a desert.

Hey everyone, following my last post about trying Elden Ring on the S26 Ultra (I'm still at Margit btw..) I decided to try out how games run natively and how it handles them. I tried COD Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Genshin Impact. I added my thoughts here:

COD Mobile - this took ages to download and install, but once installed it ran like butter. Super crisp and responsive on the screen. I had the option to prioritise framerate or quality, on ultra graphics, the framerate automatically dipped to medium. It averaged well-above 60fps for my session, although did get a little warm after an hour, but I think that's to be expected. I've seen people complain about the screen not looking or feeling nice, but in my experience that's only for prologned use with the privacy screen on. I like cod mobile, I think it's unfair to compair with a console experience, but, paired with a controller or a backbone, I think it's a great experience. I'm curious to try playing on Samsung dex mode with a monitor to see how that performs...

PUBG - similarly, this took a little while to install only when i chose the additional stuff, but I think that's because I downloaded on data (messed up my monthly mbs lol) Otherwise, i really liked how this ran, I had it on ultra settings and it was crisp. I played this for a couple hours after work and loved how it felt. This was my first time playing PUBG, and i'm not sure if it's my thing when copmpared to Apex Legends for example. I like a faster paced BR style.

Genshin Impact - fast loading times, performed really nicely at high settings with 60 FPS. After the first hour it began to get a bit warm to the touch. Nothing crazy, but noticable. Although I doubt I'll be playing more than two hours gaming, so for a quick fix, its more than perfect. But the fideltiy of the the game's enviroment is beautiful.

Balatro - this for some reason was not available on the S26, but was available on my S25, I hope they add support soon, because I've put hours into this on other devices.

TL;DR:  I tried COD, Genshin Impact, and PUBG on my Galaxy S26 Ultra. They ran like butter.

Figured I’d try PS5 Remote Play on my S26 Ultra and play Elden Ring. I thought the response time is going to be worse than this considering the wifi connectivity but tbh it’s pretty good.

Finished a couple of camps with ease, not brave enough to try any of the bosses though lol. I have the prioritize frame rates setting coz i play on a PS5 but quality of the AMOLED screen makes everything better, anyone tried it with the PS5 Pro and prioritize quality setting?
