What is this?

What is this?

Under the rear, passenger side of the airbox on the 1.5L dragon. It appears to be a stem about 3-4” tall capped with a rubber cap. The cap on mine seems to be covered in oil (my Quicklane overfilled my oil and a different Quicklane told me not to worry about it). My car has been making a sputtering sound when accelerating and I think I’ve finally isolated the sound to here.

Quicklane service

Make sure you’re checking your fluid levels after regular service. The Quicklane I had been going to has now overfilled my oil twice. I’ve noticed some strange noises / hesitation since that service and while I don’t know for sure if they’re related, I will definitely be having a different Quicklane redo my recent oil change

Scheduled service

‘23 OBX, 38,XXX mi. Quick lane told me my trans fluid is pretty dark and they recommend replacing it (about $500). I’ve heard that that’s a good idea around this mileage because of all the premature transmission failures. My hesitation is that they showed me samples of all the fluids to include power steering fluid, which I’m 99.999% sure these cars don’t have. Is the recommendation to replace the transmission fluid legit?
