[Guide] How to buy an extra midi adapter for your Seqtrak in the US

How to buy an extra midi adapter for your Yamaha Seqtrak:

  1. Go to https://Yamaha24x7.com and create an account. This is the official parts and service website for Yamaha in the US.
  2. Open the sidebar menu and click "US Consumers"
  3. In the lower two boxes enter VFD34200 and the quantity you want to order. Then click "Add to List". You can ignore the "Contact me" notice under availability.
  4. Scroll down and click "Add to Cart". Complete the checkout process as normal.

It will take about a month to arrive and there's no tracking so keep that in mind.

Good luck, and have fun.

What's going on with the drums in this song?

Background: I am not a drummer, guitar and keys are more my speed, but since I'm trying to do the whole singer-songwriter thing I'm trying to learn more about drums and listen for interesting things being done with them. I do not have access to a drum kit currently.

Song: Carrie Ends the Call by John K. Samson

How is this "ringy" (i think it's called) tone on the toms created? Most toms I hear in songs have a lot less obvious tonal character and are more clicky. Is this sound created by a playing technique or is it a recording technique? Both? Thanks.
