I’m 11 years in. And it’s something that’s neverending. When a “regular” couple has kids, it’s a mutual hobby you both signed up for. And if it were a regular “hobby” then the person pursuing it could quit or pause if it affected your mutual life so much it was making things worse.

But step kids are a hobby your spouse signed up for without you that you can never escape. And all your own interests and have babies and dreams have to take a second place to this one.

Fuck.
