I lost 30 kg (66 lbs) and basically discovered I had a completely different penis
Hello everyone,
I’m sharing this story not to show off or anything like that. I mostly just need to get it off my chest, and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar and how it made you feel.
I’m 32 years old, 190 cm (6'3"), and I’ve been overweight pretty much my entire life. At my heaviest, last January, I was around 150 kg (330 lbs).
I should also clarify that I started losing weight purely for health reasons. This was never part of my motivation, and honestly I wasn’t even thinking about my penis or expecting any change there.
For basically my whole adult life, I thought I had an average, maybe even borderline-small penis. When soft, only around 4 cm (1.6 in) was visibly sticking out, and erect I thought I was around 13 cm (5.1 in).
Looking back, I think there were a few reasons I believed this. I thought penis size was supposed to be measured only from the visibly exposed part, I’m a big guy in general—big hands, tall, etc.—so everything probably looked smaller in proportion, and, like a lot of guys, porn was one of my main references. Obviously that comes with a massive visual bias because of angles, performers, proportions, and all the usual tricks.
The funny thing is, I had completely accepted it. It genuinely didn’t bother me much. I bought toys and made a point of getting good at oral sex so that whenever I had sex, penis size wouldn’t really matter.
Thinking back, a couple of women I slept with actually complimented me. One said I was girthy, another said I had a nice cock, but of course I assumed they were just being nice. I basically didn’t believe them.
Anyway, since January I’ve lost around 30 kg (66 lbs).
Because the change happened gradually, and because I wasn’t really paying attention to my penis specifically, I didn’t notice how much smaller my pubic fat pad had become.
Then the other day I randomly had a hookup, and the woman told me I had a big dick.
I laughed and basically told her, “It’s okay, you don’t have to lie to me.”
She then pressed down on the remaining fat pad and said something along the lines of, “Dude, this is at least 18 cm (7.1 in).”
And that was the moment my brain kind of short-circuited.
The next day I measured properly, bone-pressed, and got 18.2 cm (7.2 in) in length and 13.9 cm (5.5 in) in girth.
I measured it several times because I genuinely didn’t believe it.
Then I went down the internet rabbit hole and realized that, while obviously it’s not some monstrous porn-sized dick, statistically it is definitely on the large side.
The funniest discovery was that apparently I’m not even much of a grower. The thing was basically just buried in fat. Even soft, I’m now around 13 cm (5.1 in) bone-pressed.
It honestly feels a little like waking up one day and discovering that a part of your body you had understood one way for your entire adult life is actually completely different.
And weirdly enough, it gave me a confidence boost. Which makes absolutely no sense, because before this happened I genuinely didn’t care much about my size.
But for the last week I swear I’ve been walking a little differently 😂
The other thing I’m now really curious about is what happens as I continue losing weight. I still have roughly another 30 kg (66 lbs) that I want to lose for health reasons, so I’m genuinely interested to see how much more my body—and especially the fat pad in that area—changes.
Anyway, I’d love to hear from anyone who lost a significant amount of weight and had a similar realization. Did it change the way you saw yourself? Did the confidence boost eventually wear off, or did it actually change something for you long-term? And if you kept losing weight afterward, did you notice even more change?
