Pain management specialist experiences?

I’ve been chronically ill most of my life and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and HSD a couple years back. However, back in January, I had a random health flare where I started getting severe nerve pain, numbness, burning, and tingling in my legs and the left side of my body. My neurologist has been struggling to figure out what’s going on, but also unfortunately hasn’t been the most supportive recently and I am planning to get a second opinion.

I’m wondering if anyone has gone to any type of pain management specialist before having a concrete diagnosis? The pain has been unbearable and the medication I’m on isn’t really helping much. I’m just also unsure if this would be the right route to go without any specific diagnosis.

new chair update!

I don’t currently have any photos of the chair without me in it lol but here it is! I got the TiLite Z in OD green. The seat width is 20in. I’m not sure about the depth, but it fits like a glove! I’m so amazed at how much easier it is to push. I’m able to go outside and on public transit again without any assistance!

new chair day tomorrow!!

I just got a call this morning that my first custom ultra lightweight manual chair will be delivered tomorrow morning! I got the TiLite Z in OD Green. The process getting this chair has been as smooth as it possibly could have been thanks to my PT and ATP!

I got evaluated and measured in the same appointment with my APT and PT in mid April. Insurance approved the prescription the next week! I only had to wait until tomorrow because there was a delay on my cushion. I am so thankful for how knowledgeable and efficient my APT has been.

I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user, and I’ve been using a lightweight Drive chair until I could get my new one. My wife has had to push me everywhere when we go out since I can’t push myself for more than a couple pushes. It’s such a heavy chair! I’m really looking forward to having more independence again.

I know it’s been asked a lot in this sub, but are there any tips/tricks or just general knowledge you wish you had before getting your first chair?
