GH-001 compatible mod chips?

I've an SCPH-10000 (motherboard gh-001) I would like to hardmod for the sake of region unlocking as that can't be done via softmodding on this model. The only compatible mod chips I can discover seem to be unobtanium (matrix infinity, dms3/4/4 pro, messiah 2, ect.). Does anyone know of any compatible chips?

The general consensus on my model seems to be to keep it around as a collectible but I quite like the thing and would love to do as much with it as I can, even if it takes additional research/work.

Got the PS2 for 500 yen about a year ago and finally got around to getting the external hard drive for it. Used the protopwn exploit (guide: Protopwn - PS2 Homebrew Store) and prepped/loaded the hdd with this guide HDD mode — Open PS2 Loader documentation.

Just for anyone trying to mod their SCPH-1X000 model, if your memory card is breaking/dying/not reading well, protopwn won't install properly, so make sure you're using a working memory card. I'm not using fmcb, I repurposed a 1.953 memory card I purchased and discovered wasn't compatible with my PS2. I also tried v1.966 as well as PS2BBL which didn't work either. Protopwn was the first thing that worked for me.
