Something I think brands underestimate about creator campaigns

One thing I don’t think enough brands realize is how much speed matters in influencer marketing.

We’ve seen campaigns lose momentum simply because:

  • approvals took too long
  • revisions dragged out
  • creators waited days for responses
  • posting timelines kept shifting

Usually the best-performing campaigns are the ones where:

  • creators get clear direction quickly
  • communication is fast
  • brands trust creators a little more
  • content can move while the trend is still relevant

The internet moves so fast now that even a 1-week delay can completely change how content performs.

After managing hundreds of creators, and 4 years as an influencer manager, I found the problem.

Something that still surprises me about the creator economy: the matching layer between brands and creators is kind of a mess.

Creators are out here cold emailing, filling out random Google Forms, scrolling Discords and Facebook groups, just hoping something lands. And not just newer creators - I've seen mid-tier creators with solid portfolios and real engagement doing the exact same thing because there's no reliable place to find consistent opportunities. The process is almost entirely luck and persistence.

Meanwhile brands and agencies are trying to source fast enough for campaigns and mostly doing it through spreadsheets, manual DMs, and asking around in their network. When a campaign brief comes in with a tight turnaround, the sourcing scramble is real. A lot of time gets burned just trying to find the right people before any actual vetting even starts.

For UGC creators especially, it's wild how fragmented it still is. UGC has exploded as a format - brands genuinely want it, budgets are there - but the infrastructure for connecting those brands with the right creators still feels patched together.

That's a big part of what we've been building toward with kreatify.io . The idea is pretty simple: make it easier for brands and agencies to post castings and actually find the right people quickly, and make it easier for creators to find real opportunities and apply without having to manually hunt across five different platforms every day. Less time sourcing, more time actually executing.

The spend in this space keeps growing but the infrastructure around discovery and matching hasn't really caught up to where the market is. There's a pretty obvious gap between how much money is moving through the creator economy and how clunky the actual workflow still is on both sides.

Curious if others are feeling that friction or if there are solutions out there that are actually working - would genuinely love to know what's been useful for people.
