Skin issue on my cat, advice needed

Hi all,

My gf and I have a 1.5 year old cat he’s been having an ongoing issue with debris on his skin, he has loads of these little black specks which are quite stubborn to get off the skin, and bathing doesn’t help much. I’m sure he’s not very comfortable as it’s quite literally all over his body from his mouth, chin, legs, stomach, etc.

We took him to the vet last year and they didn’t have much to offer in the way of solutions or diagnosis, apart from being positive it wasn’t flea-related. “It’s possibly allergies” or “you can try giving fish oil” but nothing has made a noticable difference even after changing him over to different food.

Has anyone here experienced this, and had a positive outcome? Any similar insight would be appreciated!

Cat Eye Worm or Gunk?

hi reddit, my girlfriend’s two year old cat Charlie (pictured) frequently has what appears to be fur in his eye and can be a bit difficult to help keep clean. Tonight, I noticed my own 8-month old kitten was squinting a bit and he had the same looking ‘fur’ in his eye, I’m now a bit worried thinking it could possibly be a case of parasitic worms? The two of them play together often and seems realistic it could be transmitted from one to the other.

I’ve had many cats throughout my life and never had this issue before so any insight would be appreciated!

thanks in advance,
overly cautious cat dad
