Pet Portraits by Local Fantasy Illustrator
Hey folks, asheville based fantasy illustrator here. I try to share my work here quarterly: both to share something pretty on here to look at and break up complaints about traffic, and to stir up some more localized business as I've loved the commissions that've come my way from this subreddit.
I've done work for magic the gathering, videogames, beer labels, podcast art and socks, but my favorite work tends to be personal commissions. I cut my teeth doing DnD character portraits, and somewhere along the way that morphed into doing mostly portraits of peoples pets or whole family portraits in that same mode. These are some of my favorites from the past half year.
You can see more of my work on my portfolio site here. For social media these days im most active on bluesky. I also have a patreon which is free to join if you'd like monthly wrap ups of my commissions and a peek at their sketches.
and if you're interested in a piece for yourself or somebody else you can reach me by email at shaferbrownillus@gmail.com for rates and timeline.
[Art] Chaos Patron
This is a recent commission for a players chaotic patron, the lord of fox decay. Delighted to see things fall apart, he accompanies their party, his stomach acting as a randomized bag of holding. The portrait request was the moment the player met their patron, opening an overgrown door in the woods and seeing his influence spill out.
In my time playing or DMing warlocks, I always appreciate when a table is open to their patron taking on a more hands on roll in the world. Especially in more grounded settings its such a useful tool in the toolbox to inject otherworldly influence or throw the party a bone.
