My first ebook is free today and I genuinely don't know how to feel

My ebook, The Girl Who Built Her Own Cage, is free today as part of my Kindle Promo day.

Just a heads up - it's more about emotional battles, loneliness and the emptiness that comes from endlessly chasing things in life.

If you do end up reading it, I’d genuinely appreciate an honest review or feedback. As a first-time author/writer, every response helps me understand what connects and what doesn’t.

Published my first ebook on Kindle

I published my first ebook recently and I genuinely didn’t expect it to feel surreal.

The book is called "The Girl Who Built Her Own Cage". It’s an emotional narrative, and honestly putting it out there feels both exciting and terrifying at the same time.

It's a very short read right now (around 5 pages), more like a compact emotional narrative than a full-length book.

If anyone wants to check it out, it’s on kindle - https://amzn.in/d/0e5pti8r

It is free on Kindle Unlimited, and I’m also running a free promo this Sunday and Monday.

Also I'm curious for the people here who read indie ebooks often: what usually makes you give a first -time author a chance?

I finally did this and couldn't resist sharing it with you all

Something small happened recently that I kept wanting to tell people who'd actually get it.

A few weeks ago, I did something I never thought I'd actually do. I finished writing something. It's only 5 pages, a short emotional narrative, but every word in it felt deeply personal. I spent sleepless nights just sitting with it before I finally let it exist somewhere outside my own head.

Calling myself a writer still feels unreal. But weirdly, finishing it has made me want to keep going to take writing seriously for the first time in my life.

Maybe 5 pages sounds small. To me, it was proof I could stop overthinking and actually put something real out into the world. That feeling alone has been worth everything.

Finally published my first ebook and a stranger on the internet made the whole thing even better

After months of second-guessing myself and putting things off, I actually did it. My first ebook is live. It still feels surreal.

I've always struggled with self-doubt, so hitting publish was genuinely a big deal for me. Small step for most people, but a huge leap for me.

What made it even better? I randomly got into a chat to figure out the Kindle side of things (im completely newbie), and u/greybishop_PDSH was incredibly helpful; cleared all my doubts, even gave my Substack a shoutout, and helped me get my first 10 subscribers. Still my go-to whenever I have questions.

Honestly, as a writer, that kind of healthy, genuine connection at the right time feels like a blessing. It reminded me that the internet isn’t always noise. Sometimes, it gives you people who make the road feel less lonely.

The book is called "The Girl Who Built Her Own Cage" - available now on Amazon! If you're on Kindle Unlimited, it's completely free. Also, running a free promo this Sunday if you wanna wait for that.

Would love to hear your feedback or honest thoughts. Thanks for being here!
