Fritos Chorizo Chipotle -5/10

So I'll grab a bag of the Mexican version of chips and it is usually a solid idea. So I saw these at the corner place and thought to myself, "I like Fritos, I like chorizo, I like chipotle chilis."

When I got home, I put the Ghana game on the screen, opened a beer, and opened this bag.

OMFG - the scent was something like next day bean burrito farts with a sour nasty garbage truck liquor finish.

So I let those breath a minute and had a sip of beer, reached in and grabbed a chip. You know how some things can smell a bit rank and then taste good, stuff like cheese or aged sausages?

This wasn't like that. This tasted like a salty version of what they smelled like. Because I love my wife, I shared these and asked for her opinion.

"Just throw that shit out, even the dogs won't eat it."

xero has become unusable - how to export all?

So lately, whenever I go in to do simple stuff, you know, record a bill payment or reconcile a client statement, blah blah... pages have to be reloaded and reloaded and thing is, as a human, when I'm working on something I have the steps in my mind WHICH IS BLOWN AWAY when I deal with constant error and load fails and delays.

I've already apologized to the clients I suggested "dump sQuickBooks and do Xero" since this degredation over the last few months has been rapid and dramatic.

So, anyway - how in hell do I dump these company files into one of the QBO (etc) file types that have all the info?

... which I recall was kinda easy just six months ago, but cannot find now.

Pulling hair out and screaming, I remain your faithful bizman in chaotic times :-)

The Eczema Tax is evil

Have you noticed that no matter what you buy for eczema, there is a big price premium?

TL;dr – We did price comparisons last week and discovered that products labeled specifically for eczema usually cost two to four times as much per ounce.

Aveeno - shame on you

Using Aveeno® as an example – here are three of the eczema products at my local Walgreens last week (11 June, 2026). Each of those costs at least two bucks an ounce. Meanwhile, their regular lotion costs just under seventy CENTS an ounce.

$2.00 >> $0.70

found a great HVAC company - finally

So these guys showed up in about four hours, got my AC working, then stayed to give it a tune-up and the rate was completely fair and honest.

Fast, professional, nice, and good pricing.

So if you need HVAC, give "Infinity Performance" a try - www.ipheatingandcooling.com - and I'm not paid or comp'd on this. Just delighted by old fashioned great & fair service.

▲ 4 r/SWORDS

known & unknown swords (18/19th century)

Upper is known: French Heavy Calvary Saber

Lower is a blade and grip without guard or scabbard, purchased quite cheap. Toledo 1845. Excellent flex, balance, quality steel. I've found a good number of similar swords used by French and Spanish infantry officers, but nothing that matches the grip and blade details. Grip is wood core, covered in ray skin and then wrapped with braided wire.

Each square on that cloth is 2".

My objective is to get a reasonably correct hilt and scabbard for the lower blade. Ideally I could preserve the grip as is, I can do simple restoration and rewrap the wire.

fun look at the manufacturing cost of an old school i3 (2015)

I found this in the latest issue of Construction Physics (you should subscribe!) and found it fascinating.

The part counts alone are very informative. Look at the battery - damn, that thing was craftsmanship (handmade), no wonder they were so expensive. And so forth.

Definitely interesting, and happy to engineering geek out in comments :-)
