What the logic behind taking face recognition pictures?

So my FR works fine, the min value is calibrated, now I want to understand what makes it take a picture? It can't be just the minimum value as pictures are not taken every single second so is there a maximum limit that whenever a face is seen there must be a maximum of x pictures?

I'm trying to understand, sometimes visitors are at my door for a good 30 seconds and then a couple of more minutes after I open the door and speak to them and then when I look at my FR I only see approximately 6 snapshots of one particular second or maybe two sets of 6 snapshots each

They have been times when the person is looking straight on the camera and a very good resolution/front angle is available but yet FR chooses a side angle with lower resolution

Is there anything that I can do to improve this?

Robot lawn mower, what do people recommend?

I know they’re not great with edging but I’m hoping it will keep the front and back lawn sensible.

I do have a gardener (once a month) so I’m hoping the robot can give it a trim 2 weeks before and after.

I’m a wheelchair user so unfortunately I can’t mow it myself and my neighbours keep my area so tidy and do their lawns weekly, it makes me feel bad that mine is messy or overgrown.

Would prefer to not use eufy lol

Ultra i9? want to upgrade to run detect on main stream

im thinking about getting a mini pc, an ultra i9 to run 2/4 cameras on the mainstream.

my main camera is 8k, reolink 180 duo3. running detect on the sub and it misses some of the licence plates simply bc the confidence is a little low but if i lower the threshold it spews out bs letters.

my doorbell is 2k and face recognition was terrible on the sub stream so at the minute i am using the main and its working great. the only bad thing is that my CPU is always arounds 80% and intel GPU is around 55%. understandable.

im currently using an n150 but want to upgrade at the end of this year. 2/4 would be main but i wouldnt mind all of them using the main stream. i may even add 2 indoor cameras next year

Need some help and understanding the products

Currently, I’m sick of my battery powered doorbell and constantly removing it, charging it and giving it a good 10 hours off the doorbell while it is charging

Plus, I am a wheelchair user, taking it off is not exactly something as straightforward as the normal person

Anyway, I’m thinking about hardwiring it, through POE so it’s always on (had issues with it waking up too late sometimes)

Heard great things about unify, but the products confuse the life out of me.

Gateways, unify protect, cameras, cloud key

Currently, I have one 180 8k Reolink camera for my driveway(Poe), a 2k reolink camera for the backyard (WiFi) and a doorbell camera (Wi-Fi, and battery)

Currently, my driveway and backyard cameras are okay so I’m going to leave them for now but I do want to use my doorbell opportunity to get onto unify.

I am looking at the G4 pro doorbell, but I have seen some videos of a G6 which I cannot find anywhere on the store, is that something to be released soon and something I should wait for

And also, what sort of gateway should I be looking at? I’m assuming that the gateway is something that I need to connect the cameras to and then my phone/Home Assistant/frigate connect to that?

And then what is unify protect and the cloud key?

Wanting to play a custom sound?

I’d like to play a custom notification sound on my dashboard, I will save the MP3 file in my www local folder, how would I get it to play?

Obviously through an automation, but I mean what media player does everyone recommend installing that would make it straight forward

The pictures that have been sending from Frigate to Frigate+ have been annotating perfectly fine four around six weeks… But for the past two weeks they have not been annotating for some reason and I have no idea why

The vehicles in the pictures are extremely similar to the previous ones, so they should easily be able to get detected and annotated

Person and other things should also get annotated, and so should license plate…

These all have been getting annotated previously, I’m not sure why they have stopped… The labels are still available

What would be nice if there was a button to apply the automatic annotation, or to at least add it to the queue. And then some feedback would be quite nice to show what is happening at the minute because right now I have no idea if the photo is getting stuck, if the entertainers cannot recognise anything, it should be able to, if I’m making a mistake somewhere or if the service is just down
