Late night eats in Reno?

Hi all, our band is playing in Reno in a couple weeks and I'm wondering if there's anywhere to eat later at night (post 11pm). We're from Oakland, and outside of just a couple places there's nothing here anymore.

Pumpernickel Bagels - where you at?

I love pumpernickel bagels, but I can't seem to find any near me here in Berkeley. My job takes me down through Oakland and up into Richmond - anyone know if there's any to be found in this region?

Health tests before adoption?

Hi there everyone, forgive me if this is a common question, but a recent experience has me very curious.

Is it standard procedure for rescue organizations to do a blood panel to determine if there's any serious health issues prior to listing the animal on their adoption site?

Sadly, we attempted to adopt a dog, only to find out from our vet after having her a couple days, that she had kidney disease among other issues. It was truly heartbreaking, as we already grew fond of the dog., but we just went through a 2 year kidney disease ordeal with our previous dog and can't willingly put ourselves through that again so soon. We had to return her. I never want to go through that again.
