Going back to school

Hey internet world. After 12 years of being out of school, I have decided to attend community college this fall and I am extremely nervous.

I am a single mom of two (infant and older child) and they motivate me to become better in every way possible. After orientation they had me talk to student services about my severe anxiety and panic attacks (embarrassingly enough I had one there) and the services they offer for parents. Which is extremely helpful with my situation.

I was always hesitant and doubted myself whether or not I could do it. If I was able to juggle being a mom, life and school while keeping my sanity. This summer I said I am doing it and I did. Now I’m back in this whole doubting myself stage and I don’t know how to really pull myself out of it.

School starts in just a few weeks and I am seeking advice. Does anyone have tips on managing this juggling act? It’s a completely new world to me and I’ve developed a “fear of the unknown” towards it. Which I am assuming is normal… but I’m just wondering how others do it I guess.

What are some things you suggest or habits that have been successful for you? What should a new college student (at 30) know and prepare for, from a students perspective?

Crocheting Blues

I recently took up crochet… and I absolutely love it. The problem is I have a tremor. Before you think anything, my meds were working really well. Now they are quitting on me and it seems to be getting worse. I never finished a project yet, but I’m determined to and I don’t want to give up crocheting. I use just a simple stitch and have seen looms out there in videos I come across. Are they good for crochet? I don’t know how to knit and it seems that’s more of what it is. I want your opinion though. Will a loom help me? Is it easier? Is it worth putting out more money or should I call it quits. I’m crashing out haha. Haaalllpppp.

Name regret- 10months

I am going to try and write this again… I am new to Reddit…
I am a mom of two and have been crying for months over my 10-month-old son's name. I felt pressured when he was born, and the name just doesn't fit him and I’m afraid of the bullying he may face.

In my heart, the name I originally wanted feels right. I’m so terrified of being judged by people, but I feel like changing it now is better than waiting until he's older. I’m already prepared to be judged here, but I really need someone that knows this feeling… to kinda ease my mind either which way? Idk.

Has anyone actually gone through with a name change at this age? I have no family or friends to talk to about this and feel so alone. I just really need some reassurance.
