A look at the mechanics in my physics puzzle game. Looking for community ideas!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a quick look at the (current) special mechanics and chaotic cubes from my upcoming solo indie project, Cubalance, which officially releases this Sunday, May 24th on the Google Play Store (Can be wishlisted on steam as well).

The game combines traditional match-3 strategy with active, physics-based scale balancing. As you can see in the clip, there are some special fellas like weightless feathers, explosive mines, designed to either save your strategy or completely disrupt your balance.

While the initial launch version dropping this Sunday is fully complete, I am already coding the next updates to expand special mechanics.

I want to hear from the community: What kind of helpful or completely ridiculous mechanics would you want to deal with on a tilting scale?

Thanks for watching, and I look forward to reading your ideas for the next updates!

Hey everyone,

my puzzle game Cubalance Light is officially listed for pre-registration on Google Play!

This is actually the mobile version of a much larger project I’m building for Steam, which will include a ton of extra modes and features. Maybe you remember the "mad lady" with a bunch of printed cubes? Yep. I printed a cube for every wishlist I got within the first week of my steam page going live...

BUT: I also wanted to bring the core experience to mobile to get the balancing just right! Maybe you are interested in testing out the game already? Mark your calendar: On May 24th the game will be available!

I’ve been having a blast with the art style and created a bunch of different skins you can unlock in the game! The core game is totally free (and NO forced apps!), but you will be able to watch rewarded apps and buy a 'pro-version' to unlock further mechanics/ skins/ leader boards...

If you like physics-based puzzles, achievement hunting and competing with others: I’d be honored if you pre-register for the game. A special skin is also made available as a pre-registration reward as well, so check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sherlocklini.cubulance

Launch day actually falls on Pentecost, so I'm also planning a limited-time holiday skin to celebrate my game finally being "live." Feel free to suggest some skins as well.

Thanks for being a great community to learn from!

A week ago, I posted a photo of the first 3D-printed character from my game Cubalance and made a promise: one print for every wishlist in the first week. I wanted to print 15 to fill up that seesaw...and honestly I did not expect the post to blow up!

I was wrong. So very wrong.

You guys absolutely blew me away with 241 wishlists in just seven days! If I look a bit "mad" or "crazy" in the photo, it’s because I haven’t heard anything but the hum of my 3D (resin) printer. Honestly, I might have inhaled a bit too much of the resin fumes... or I’m just completely overwhelmed by the support. Probably a bit of both!

Initially, my husband told me to not count wishlists from my friends, but honestly, after seeing the surge of support from all of you, it was like "just print them all"! Every. Single. One.

I actually got so into the zone that I’ve accidentally printed 6 cubes too many. So, technically, there are six little guys sitting here waiting for their "owners" to hit that wishlist button! :D

Beyond the numbers, I want to say a huge thank you for the feedback. Many of you reached out with suggestions for the game and the Steam page, and I’m already busy adapting the project to make it even better. There will be a mobile version (for free!) coming soon. You can find it on Google Play, while it'll be called "Cubalance Light".

For those who missed the first post: I'm a solo dev building a physics-puzzler inspired by the 2000 classic Swing. It feels surreal to see my digital project turn into this physical mountain of cubes, that also fill the game area.

Thank you all for making this launch week so unforgettable <3
