High Mileage Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill: yay or nay?

I own a 2016 sport, 165,000 miles. i’m the second owner, and to my knowledge it’s never had a transmission fluid change - full or partial.
I’m not noticing any crazy issues, but I do feel the “typical?” clunky shifts when accelerating and have for years. I’m considering doing one drain and fill of fluid to freshen her up and hopefully get a few more years out of her.
My stepdad is worrying me by saying that a fluid change now could cause my transmission to fail. Is this really something I should worry about with one drain and fill? I want to do what’s best for the longevity of the jeep, knowing i’m on “borrowed time” for jeep standards.
Do i go through with a drain and fill or leave it and hope for the best?

Should I replace these shocks? (Surface rust vs rot)

2016 Jeep Renegade in upstate NY, 165k miles. Is this rust something to be worried about and replace or should I just take measures to clean it off and seal it as best as I can? I do not notice any kind of drivability issue with them! First two are front, last two are rear. Thank you :)
