I need suggestions for a water shutoff valve that must be plumbed in.

My Dome Watermain shut off, just died. I need to replace it but I don’t want to do the same thing as before, strapping a device on my water main valve. I want my water main valve completely unobstructed and in a state that is dead simple to shut off. The shut off must be completely separate.

I want to plumb in a valve just down the pipe from the water main. I’d appreciate any tips, advice or recommendations on products that you have experience with.

I want to stay away from moen because I have heard that they fail after 3 years and are prone to false positives.

Reliability is my #1 concern.

Right now I’m looking at Solid motorized valves. But I don’t know the best relay to use with them etc. is this a bad idea?
what have you been using?

Any tips would be great. What issues might I run into? what don’t I know that I don’t know?

PSA verify that your Smart water valve is actually able to shut off.

My dome water main shut off stopped working. I have no idea how long it had been bad. Luckily on a whim I decided to test it. It failed. Was slow and couldn’t close the valve all the way. At first I thought that it might have been a bad power supply so I swapped that out. Nope same story. When I took it off I was able to tell that something was wrong mechanically. The the flat sided bolt stripped out of the part that connects to the valve handle. So it couldn’t get it to tight all the way. I was very anal making sure that the Dome was properly aligned. With the valve. I think it’s asking a lot of the small amount of metal to the side of the flat sided bolt to handle that much torque. Anyone have a good suggestion for a replacement? This time I want to put in a valve separate from the main that isn’t just tacked on.

Pizza Index for Steam Frame?

Have you ever heard of the pizza index? It's used to determine if the US military is about to do something big. It's a measure of the wait time for pizza places near the Pentagon. (Also gay bars being less busy.)

During the LTT WAN show, Linus said that they were given very little time with the Steam Machine between receiving it and when their nda would be up, about the time of the release. They were seriously having to crunch to get videos done in time.

Would it be possible to somehow gauge how much tech YouTubers and their staff are interacting with social media, broadcasting on twitch, etc? If there is a sudden decline in their activity, that could signal they all got review samples and are furiously working on their reviews, etc.

Tenax Proseal vs 511 Porous Plus for honed marble bathroom tile. What would you chose and why?

I need to seal some new tile in my master bathroom. The tile is honed Iceberg white marble from a seller that must not be named. The tile is on the shower walls, wainscotting and on the floor of the bathroom.

I have a Quarter full gallon jug of 511 Porous Plus left over from another project. I also found a ton of Tenax Proseal at a liquidation store near me. They didn't know what they had ans sold it for only a couple buck per bottle. I think I bought like 10. Which is the better sealer? What will be most durable and seal the best? What would you pick? Why?

Anyone here involved in the Oxford Road home recently completed and designed by Studio Mcgee in Provo Utah?

If so, could you please share details about the project? I toured the home, and the cabinetry was incredible. Is that white oak or European oak? I can't tell if there is a light stain. What was it finished with?

Those rounded corners- are they a thin veneer or carved out of a solid piece of wood? Normally, I'd just assume it's a thin veneer, but they spared no expense on this home. You can check out more photos of it HERE
