Realistic move in manager career?

Realistic move in manager career?

As the title states, I am wanting to make a move within the next season or two and I’m stuck on exactly what league/country to move to. Whether that be a lateral move, or a slight “upgrade”.

Currently I manage an Austrian side that started in the low leagues (downloaded a database). After a few seasons of successful seasons (it’s quite easy in the low leagues) I have started to think about making a move to another country. While I do enjoy this team that I have built, I also want to make a move in the sense of the managers career.

My ultimate goal would be to coach a team in Serie A. Maybe a team like Roma or Fiorentina. With that in mind, I was thinking about making a move to a Serie B/Serie C Italian side and bringing them up to Serie A then making that move.

However, I’ve also never played in certain leagues and that made me curious as to what I may be missing out on. What leagues would people recommend? In terms of the career path, what league would be good for a lateral/upgrade type move?

Lore/Storylines for Players

As the title suggests, when signing players and/or in general in a save, do you make storylines or come up with lore/reasoning behind certain moves? I often find myself making a lot of international signings and sometimes I try to add one or two players for the bench from countries like Kazakhstan, South Korea, Ukraine etc etc where I sign them with the goal of keeping them for years to come, have them become homegrown/nation trained, and overall become a club legend.

In my current save in Austria, I signed Shevchenko’s kid (a young striker) with the idea of him becoming a homegrown/club legend and win us a bunch of trophies. After a season with 41 goals in all competitions, he became a club legend. Once he leaves, I will retire his number (#11).
