My cat has this swollen lump on his lip. Vet isn’t sure what it is. Anyone else experience this?
I noticed about a week ago that Moose (1.5 years old, Ragdoll) had a little red patch on his chin, so I started watching it and taking photos. I noticed his chin is full of little brown specs, which are likely closed comodomes/feline acne. Then after about 4 days of that I noticed his bottom lip was a little swollen and the next day it turned into this. I took him to the vet the next day and they’re not sure what it is. They don’t think it’s infected, so we have him on 5 days on metacam to help with pain and inflammation. I am also rubbing a toner pad on his chin daily that the vet gave me to help with the comodomes (little man has his own skin care routine now lol). Today is day 3 and it hasn’t changed much. It doesn’t seem to be causing him pain. He’s eating, drinking, playing and sleeping as normal. We haven’t changed his food recently so I’m not thinking it’s an allergy, and he drinks water out of stainless steel bowls and fountains that are cleaned every day. If it doesn’t go down with the meds I’ll take him back for a biopsy and bloodwork but hoping it doesn’t come to that. Anyone else have this happen to their cat? Any ideas? TYIA :)
