Again with the misinformation from Art

Again with the misinformation from Art

So Monday's show Art decides to start Focus (because the guest he was supposed to have didn't show) with his "scary" issues. First off, a math professor teaching fractions to calculus students "because the standards have fallen so low. How does a student get into a calculus class without learning fractions?" Well, Art, if you had read farther than the first three paragraphs, you would have found the answer. And maybe if you looked at a different source than New York Post, which appears to be your sole source for information and is your primary problem, you would have found that the issue is UC Berkeley admit students without requiring taking SAT and ACT tests.
https://sfstandard.com/opinion/2026/08/15/uc-berkeley-sat-test-blind-admissions-math-scores/
And then he moves on to the really serious issues affecting the US, the mayor of New York by using the New York Post calling Mamdani "Mayor Klutz". Does Art really believe the NY Post has any intention of being objective? In fact, Art was reading a piece in the Opinion by the Editorial Board. You know, the board that maintains some anonymity so they don't have to bear any responsibility. Here's what the people who live in the city feel about Mamdani (hardly what you would call a klutz, unlike the guy who thinks he's running the Iran War).

And then to finish the segment (blissfully this was on 15 minutes of nonsense today), Art has to get his trans-panic out just to maintain his bona fides. And does this by bringing up some the WNBA and some incident where two people were asked to cover up their XX/XY t-shirts. The fans "assumes a woman sitting courtside in a "Protect Trans Rights" t-shirt, who was featured on the video board earlier in the game, made a fuss with security, who then sided with that fan" but what Art fails to mention is the fans "did see her (the person with the Protect T) jacket was zipped up late in the game, no longer displaying the trans messaging." so it appears both were told to stop displaying. BTW, Art, if we have a problem saying what a woman is, why don't you get Jonathan Dent to tell us.
"Something's gotta give", but it should be you, Art.

So here's a recommendation and dare for Art Lewis and his 'Open Phone' segments

The 8/10 episode of Open Phones (with the contributions of the idiot Sean from Bay City and the sexually insecure Scott from Saginaw) was a gem. With Sean calling El-Sayed an Islamist, previously calling Abdul a communist, showing his ignorance of religion versus theocracy.
And then Scott, who along with Art working hard to turn Abdul from a Democrat into a Social Democrat without providing any evidence, other than what is absolutely hearsay from right-wing sources akin to Fox News. Even asking Amos O'Neal what he thinks about "Democratic Socialist within your party". WTF!!! The only reason any Democratic Socialist runs under the Democratic ticket is because EVERYONE (except Art) realizes running as a third party (which Art once again talked about on 8/11) is a lost cause and will remain so until we are given something like Ranked Choice Voting.

My recommendation: For a region, according to Art, which has so much going on that one can't attend all the activities that are available in the region, stop Open Phones and make your two and a half hours discussing with the people running all those activities. If he can't or won't do that then here's the
dare: Debate Abdul face to face and find out what he really thinks instead of the BS Sean and Scott keep feeding him and his audience.

And whooo-wee, how about 8/14?!?!?! Two hours of absolute nonsense. But we can discuss the host's (and caller's) trans panic some other day.

MJ and Donnie Deutsch

Just listened to Joe Scarborough and Donnie Deutsch argue about Israel. Donnie needs to be disinvited from MSNOW. No one really needs his "brand up, brand down" segment for his evasiveness when confronted with how Netenyahu is destroying Israeli society.

No, Art Lewis, LA's proposal to allow non-citizens to vote is not "foot-in-the-door"

So this Tuesday, WSGW's Art Lewis had one of his "open phones" segments where disinformation runs rife. Toward the end of the second hour, he decided to mention an article titled "Noncitizen voting proposal stalls in LA", mentioning California as if it is a State issue and not a local issue and then questions if it's happening in New York (see a pattern there?).
Actually, there are only two cities in California that allow non-citizen voting for local issues (not federal) but the other states are Maryland and Vermont and the "non-state" District of Columbia. And, considering it can take up to 7 year to become a naturalized citizen, after the 2-3 years to be considered a lawful permanent resident, it is not unreasonable to want the non-citizen who is working on naturalization to feel invested in the community, one way which is to vote on local issues.
