The Christian nationalist vision of America couldn’t be further from the founders’ plan

Another DSA-backed candidate, Francesca Hong, could claim victory, this time for Wisconsin Governor.

Francesca Hong is a favorite in the race. If she wins the Democratic primary on August 11, we could finally see how a democratic socialist is able to perform in a swing state.

Polling so far of a potential race between Francesca Hong and Tom Tiffany, the leading Republican, shows a statistical tie.

Between Hong in Wisconsin and El-Sayed in Michigan, both campaigns will serve as major stress tests for progressive electability in crucial presidential battleground states.

Why didn’t they do anything for the 250th?

MSNOW was the only network that just aired repeats of specials during the 250th anniversary of the country? I know they don’t really want to broadcast Trump speeches or anything like that- but it seems like a missed opportunity to do some counter programming

Another wonderful "Connect" show this morning with Jacob Soboroff!

Topics included: interview with Abdul Al-Sayed talking about health care for all Americans, mortgage-free homes for families of the 9-11 fallen heroes, and the value of dissent on this, America's 250th Anniversary.

Jacob had many other great points to make, including the finding that if 3.5% of the populace continues to protest government overreach in a non-violent fashion those movements end up winning. He also noted that "collective stubborness" is an important and powerful way to bring about desirable change.

The Truth about the Great American State Fair.

Trump described the Great American State Fair as packed with happy people and asserted that Biden or Obama could not have achieved it.
Yet when placed beside the 1976 Bicentennial, the difference feels striking.
Though America had just emerged from Vietnam and Watergate, crowds still filled the National Mall.
Fifty years on, the situation seems quite distinct—the photo conveys much.
