Any chance Alito is playing politics and trying to energize GOP midterm voters?

I have an interview tomorrow with my county government to do environmental education outreach. I’ve been recognized for environmental education in the classroom (including by the person interviewing me), and have a recommendation from the district manager of our local soil and water conservation district. I would get to focus on a subject I’m extremely passionate about (and have been my whole life), still get to teach, just without the headache of everything that goes with it, get to work with multiple age groups, and do community outreach. It’s only part time and $20 an hour, but I’m good at grant writing and could probably get funding for a ft position if I like it, and I could basically choose my hours, so theoretically I could sub if I got the itch. My student loans were forgiven this summer and our house will be paid off within the next year, because we did that “half the payment every other week” thing. As a burned out audhder, this is a dream scenario for me right now 😭

With the rise in the Chairman’s popularity Jon Stewart needs to bring back Muppet Michael Steele. 😂 Those segments were so funny, and I thought it was great that he could laugh at himself like that. But I would also love to see JS interview MS again. They had great conversations and I can’t imagine how deep they’d be now. Or maybe they can get him on The Weeknight and do muppet Jon Stewart…

I saw that a debate was announced, but I haven’t seen/heard a day and time. Has anyone heard any more details?

On PBS. Not a book, but damn it’s a good show and I feel so seen tbh. It’s about a girl with autism who helps solve crimes. I’m not going to give anymore detail because I don’t want to spoil it, but one episode I almost cried at her reaction because it was so me 😭

I miss her

I had the opportunity to hear from and meet Dr. Jermaine Johnson today. If you’re undecided or haven’t heard of him for some reason, PLEASE take a moment to look at his background and go to one of his speaking engagements. He is so inspiring and he truly cares for the PEOPLE of SC.

I’m finding that I really only use half of my planner because the “page break” just annoys me. I think a vertical layout is just better for my brain. Have any of you ever used the dashboard layout instead of the teacher layout? Did you like it/does it work better for you? I’ve been looking at the Conquest planners (my coworker had one last year and I really liked the layout). I love the discount system so much, but it’s kind of pointless if I’m not using my planner to full potential…

I’m late diagnosed, and so much of my life makes sense now, it’s such a relief…I have a very clear memory about this one incident though, and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar…I was 7 maybe? (this would have been in the early mid-80s, I’m at the state fair with my father and siblings (both younger) and we’re waiting in line at a pay phone. This man just kept talking and I have a very clear memory of feeling really weird then reaching out and pressing the lever that hangs the phone up. That man and my father both just stared at me like “I cannot believe you just did that”. And my son (also Level 1) had a similar incident when he was around 2. We were sitting in the living room watching tv together and playing, then I stepped outside to check on the dog for the night (big sliding glass door so could see clearly) and he walked over to the door and locked it, then sat down in front of the TV, changed the channel, and ignored me completely as I’m pounding on the glass for him to let me in. He’s just chilling, watching what HE wanted to I guess 😂)… I asked the doctor about it at his checkup and she said she highly doubted he was just ignoring me because that wouldn’t be developmentally appropriate or something, and ran a hearing test (perfect hearing) and eventually came to the conclusion that he was, in fact, ignoring me. Anyone else have any incidents like that?

Sorry if it seems rambling. I haven’t been awake long but this has been on my mind and I wanted to ask.
