I can't be the only one who's noticed, right? It seems like overnight its a bunch of smaller right wing subreddits that im seeing on the news feed.

Andersonville: The Confederates Concentration Camp

We associate concentration camps with the death camps of Nazi germany, but concentration camps have a much farther reach with varying political motivations behind them. While we were rescuing Jews from German camps, we locked up Japanese Americans into our own called ‘internment camps’. And long before that, the confederacy during the civil war created Andersonville in Georgia for Union prisoners.

Andersonville was a 500 acre plot of land surrounded by wooden walls. Inside, captured Union soldiers lived in tents and a decent amount of freedom within the confines. But freedom didn’t mean good conditions.the men lived in squalor, food distribution was a mess, prisoners were starving and dying of disease. The creek that ran through the camp became a giant cesspool of shit. Entire gang wars between the regiments broke out in the prison. When a New Yorker stole an Ohioan (I think they were Ohioan) watch causing the Ohio soldiers to grab clubs and have a giant melee with the New Yorkers. The camp was run by quite the character Henry Wirz, a homeopathist from Switzlerland who joined the confederacy. He either injured his arm in combat, or fell off a horse while traveling. Once when he tried to enter the prison gates, Union soldiers tried to surround him and grab his gun and he had to flee and never walked into his own prison again.

Straight up murders of prisoners were rare but executions did occur to gangs that formed inside of it that stole other prisoners food. 13,000 people died in Andersonville before its liberation. Henry Wirz was convicted of war crimes and became one of the only confederates executed. Hung to death in 1865

I just got this text from my wife about two of her students being deported

My wife is an English second language teacher at two elementary schools and she's had to deal with this shit thanks to Trump. I'm just so despondent and angry right now.

Destroy a company, make half a billion dollars

Probably not up to Robert's standards, since it's not like he killed or assaulted anyone (that we know of). But he merges two companies with completely different programming, puts himself in charge, shelves completed movies, renames a popular service causing mass confusion, and ultimately leaves the company in such bad shape it gets bought out by Trump-supplicants, bringing the movie industry closer to a monopoly. And for all that, he gets $606 million.
