Destroy a company, make half a billion dollars

Probably not up to Robert's standards, since it's not like he killed or assaulted anyone (that we know of). But he merges two companies with completely different programming, puts himself in charge, shelves completed movies, renames a popular service causing mass confusion, and ultimately leaves the company in such bad shape it gets bought out by Trump-supplicants, bringing the movie industry closer to a monopoly. And for all that, he gets $606 million.

Francisco Solano López looks surprisingly modern

Normally when you look at a person in a photo from over a century ago, or even a few decades ago, they look like a person from their time, like no one you see today. This probably has to do with their hairstyle, outfit, and demeanor.

But when I first saw this photo of López, he looks relatively modern. I think it's the beard. As they pointed out in the episode, he has an absurd, ungroomed neckbeard that no one reasonable would want shown in a professional photo. We pretty much only see that beard on someone walking down the street when they haven't gotten around to shaving in a while. Like a bratty son of a dictator who was told he's always right, so he was never taught to groom himself. As if he's just cosplaying being a general.

[S4E15] Which divine sigil is this?

I recently watched the new Ascendance of a Bookworm dub.

Right before the Night of Flutrane (or Fruhtrane, or whatever), Ferdinand gives Rozemyne this magic tool to make sure her highbeast remains in its form. It has a very distinctive divine sigil (occasionally called a divine symbol), but I don't see it in this helpful chart a fan made. The sigil looks too distinctive to be anime-only, but it's possible. Does anyone recognize it? I've only read the light novels and watched the anime, but I've heard the manga shows a lot of magic circles.

[HY5 V1] Could Ehrenfest's weirdos be caused by the country gate?

Dunkelfelger has the country gate for Leidenschaft God of Fire, who has subordinates related to fighting, like Angriff God of War, and Schlagziel God of Hunting. Plus, Leidenschaft and Ewigeliebe are the only gods of the main seven with weapons as their divine instruments (spear and sword respectively). It's maybe suggested that their fighting spirit comes from being at that country gate.

Ehrenfest has the country gate for Schutzaria Goddess of Wind, whose subordinates include Mestionora Goddess of Wisdom, and Wentuchte Goddess of Weaving. Her subordinates seem to lean toward learning and the arts in many ways. And if I had to bet on it, I'm guessing Kunstzeal Goddess of Art, is also a Schutzaria subordinate, especially since subordinate gods/goddesses seem to always be the same gender as their master.

And as we know about artists in real life, they tend to be weirdos. But you need to be a weirdo to be a true innovator who thinks outside the box!

Ehrenfest has all sorts of weirdos, like Justus who loves to travel around collecting things, Hirscher who will neglect everything in the name of research, Hartmut who's absurdly passionate about Rozemyne, and of course Rozemyne herself who has built incredible industries and trends. And Clarissa may have been born in Dunkelfelger, but she has been drawn to Ehrenfest; presumably for Rozemyne, but maybe by the subtle, passive actions of the gods.

As we learn in H5Y V1, the gods do subtly influence life in Yurgenschmidt in ways that could be dismissed as normal consequences. For example, Liebeskhilfe Goddess of Binding, says she'll give Hannelore far more suitors as a gift(?), and when Hannelore comes back, most duchies are fighting to maery her. This could be interpreted as just a natural consequence of her being an avatar for Dregarnuhr, so everyone wants her, but Liebeskhilfe also claims to have pushed things along.

So, could Ehrenfest's weirdos be caused by hosting the country gate of Wind?

And maybe Klassenberg's sweet-natured, caring, classy natives like Eglantine and Solange are influenced by the Earth Gate of Geduldh. Yurgenschmidt mythology revolves around Geduldh being obsessed over as a wife, so maybe Eglantine being perfect wife material was influenced by the gate.

Counter-examples and other gates.

This doesn't really hold with Ahrensbach's Darkness gate, since his subordinates have more of a protection bend (e.g. Chaosfliehe God of Warding, Verbergen God of Concealment, Verdraeos God of Deliverance) as opposed to the patronizing, arrogant, and condescending nature of many Ahrensbach citizens. But maybe it will make more sense when we learn more of his subordinates.

Gilessenmeyer hosts the Light gate, and the Goddess of Light seems to have a lot of contract-based subordinates (e.g. Gebordnung Goddess of Order, Liebeskhilfe Goddess of Binding, and the Goddess of Light herself overseeing contracts). But only the developed character we know from there is Rablut, who famously betrays the Royal Family despite being their knight commander.

Hauchletzte hosts the Water gate. Flutrane seems to have a nature and healing bend (e.g. Bluanfah Goddess of Sprouts, Efflorelume Goddess of of Flowers, Heilschmerz Goddess of Healing, etc). Maybe Hauchletzte has more of a natural and healing feel to it.

What do you think? Maybe I contradicted myself as much as I gave evidence, and maybe I picked-and-chose the subordinates that fit my example. But the point is that the gates don't have drastic influence, but subtle influence.

Neat drone show for July 4th 250th!

It wasn't extraordinary compared to drone shows I've seen online, but still fun. Though I'm glad it was only 15 minutes.

What are your nudism introduction failure stories?

We see stories all the time where someone's reluctant to try nudism, they give it a shot, and then they're addicted.

But what about the opposite? Do you have stories where you introduce someone to nudism, like bringing them to a nude beach or elsewhere, and they're just not into it?
