Resources for addiction/mental health.

I started a recovery subreddit a while back and had no idea what I was doing and didn't do much with it, but I’ve decided to put in the time to make it a useful space. If I can help even one person when they need support, i think its worth it. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to promote it but I'm sure if you do a bare minimum search you can find it.

Most of these are for sac county but I would love to get more for the tri county area!

Below are resources I’ve personally tried(I've tried a lot believe me) or that come highly recommended. This list is a work in progress—if you have others to add, please drop them in the comments.

Dave App took my last $20 for gas to a job interview while I'm living in my car. Customer support basically told me to kick rocks

Due to a mix of poor life choices and just bad luck, I ended up living in my car the last couple weeks.I got over a month sober and I have been putting in apps and sending my resume out to any job opening I can find and finally landed an interview at a call center.

I was beyond ecstatic at this because so far I hadn't gotten any offers and I almost thought I was unhirable. So I sold off some of the last of my possessions ( and some plasma) and managed to get 20$ for gas and put it in my chime account before falling asleep. Also be aware I have a Volvo S80 which is garbage on gas mileage and 20$ would maybe give me a quarter tank.

Anyway I woke up this morning to see the money was gone, turns out my Dave extra cash loan was due today and they took the money out of my account. I understand when taking out the cash advance I agreed to pay them back but this was my last 20$ to my name and I desperately needed it to get to my job interview.

I got on the support chat and hoped they would be able to reverse the charge temporarily if I told them about my situation. I got an agent and explained what was going on and was told sorry to be you, nothing we can do. That of course is paraphrasing and I got a little upset so she terminated the chat. So I calmed myself and thought to try it one more time and this is what followed.

( So I deleted the chat log mostly cause it was a nightmare to format and also it had my name in it multiple times.)

Also I understand how Dave's Extra cash works, I just thought I had more time to pay it back. Yes I am a horrible adult but 20 years of addiction will do that.

Anyway no real point to this rant just frustrated and tired. I'm been trying hard to play it straight and not get into any trouble and shit like this happens. I have been working so hard to stay sober this is one of the longest stretches I've had in a long time. I don't wanna go back to doing degenerate stuff to make money, it makes me sick even thinking about it. But at the same time when you get hungry or desperate enough you can rationalize almost anything. which scares the crap out of me.
