Methodology: Chart is generated using the last.fm data from everyone signed up. Position is determined based on several factors

  • Raw scrobbles: Heavy users are weighted down slightly here to prevent one user from influencing the chart too much
  • Number of listeners: How many profiles listened to the artist/album/track in the last week
  • Weekly position: Placing in a user's top 10 gives a bonus to an artist with increased bonuses for positions 1-5

Methodology is not perfect and is a work in progress but is designed to account relatively equally for different levels of activity.

  • Olivia Rodrigo holds off tough competition to stay at number one on all three charts as you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love spends its 4th week at number one. No new records this week but 10 songs remain in the top 20 and drop dead hits 12 weeks on the chart. Longest charting song currently in the top 20.
  • Madonna's CONFESSION II gives her a big week at number 2 on both the artist and album charts. Also manages to get 7 songs on the top 20 including Danceteria which hits number 6. Album is great, such a big return to form for her so glad people are checking it out. Album just manages to secure the 20th best opening for the chart. As Madonna secures the 16th best week.
    • Congratulations fellow older users an artist we know of is in the top 3!
  • Slayyyter will never go away, but for the first time all of the songs did! For the first time since the album released we have no songs from WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA in the top 20! Album stays at number 3 though as its insane run continue.
  • Ken Carson is this week's other big new release, Xperiment debuts at number 12 on the chart. Curious if it will be one of those ones that stays around for a while.
  • Kim Petras' Detour, Boards of Canada's Inferno and aespa's Lemonade - The 2nd Album all manage to secure a 6th week on the chart, this albums seem to be showing a lot of staying power. Especially Kim Petras.
  • Carly Rae Jepsen's On Wires and Phoebe Bridgers Lost Boys both stay in the same position in week 2, managing to repeat at 13 and 17 despite the new competition.
  • Katy Perry's Let It Burns manages to sneak into the top 40 this week, receiving number 37.
  • Three albums made it into the all-time top 20 this week
    • Radiohead's OK Computer at number 18
    • Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl at number 19
    • Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet at number 20
  • Charli xcx's Wink Wink has a much stronger second week after an underwhelming debut, moving up to number 2 this week. So curious to see how this album will do overall.
  • Beabadoobee's Sun has Set does not hold on as well, dropping to number 38 this week. She seems to always have big week ones and then a drop off.

Community Spotlights:

  • dylanonfire88 repeats as our number 1 Olivia listener this week with 356 scrobbles.
  • shimishimitin seems to be loving the album though with 216 scrobbles last week.
  • haechbit has kept stupid song on repeat, listening 38 times!

Can't believe it's been 20 Years

Yesterday marked my 20th anniversary on last.fm! Crazy to think about, especially crazy to look back at what I was listening to in 2006 compared to the last year. No matter what I do, Morrissey's face will probably never leave my all-time list.

Insane how much of my life is tracked on here, pretty much everything since I was 16. Makes me feel old just looking back at it.

Well anyway, on to the next 20 I guess!

  • Olivia Rodrigo continues her absolute domination of the charts this week with another number 1 on every chart.
    • No records broken this week but she secures the fifth best week for an artist and the third best week for an album. you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love now has the top 3 spots for best performing album since the chart started.
    • you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love unsurprisingly stays at number 1, GUTS also manages to stay in the top 10 this week at number 10.
    • stupid song stays at number 1 for a second week. The rest of the album makes the top 15, two songs actually managed to beat some tracks this week!
    • my way has a very strong week at number 2 though, ranking as the 12th highest ever score for a song.
    • the cure moves up into the all-time top 20 this week, moving into 20th place.
  • Slayyyter will never go away, but for the first time some songs did! DANCE... remains the final song in the top 20, which means finally we have a clear number 1 on the most weeks in the top 20 chart. DANCE... also moves up 2 spots to number 1 on the all-time chart.
  • Ninajirachi's iPod Touch has hung around the top 40 for so long that it nearly managed to take number 1 on the all-time chart. It moves ahead of Stateside this week but stays in 2nd as Slayyyter is just too strong, but still amazing longevity on this one.
  • Muse are this week's big new album, debuting at number 3, no songs make the top 20, but 5 from the album make it into the top 40. Haven't listened to them in forever, crazy they're on album 10! They also secure their second ever week on the top 20, getting a new high of number 7 on the artist chart.
  • Carly Rae Jepsen makes her top 20 debut entering the chart at number 6, driven partly by everyone returning to Emotion which enters the top 20 for the first time at number 13, but more importantly by her new single On Wires which enters the top 20 at number 13, the 2nd best non-Olivia song.
  • Charli xcx's Wink Wink has a bit of an underwhelming debut on the chart for her, only making number 8. What's crazier though is how I'm feeling now has entered the overall top 20 despite only making one top 20 chart!
  • Phoebe Bridgers' Lost Boys and Beabadoobee's Sun has Set also make the top 20 this week, it's a tough week for new releases so not bad at all from either of them.
  • Tiffany Day's HALO returns to the top 20 this week, this album has shown amazing staying power, basically hanging around the top 40 since release.
  • Toby Fox makes the top 40 this week, as DELTARUNE Chapter 5 enters the album chart at number 35, just thought this one was cool.
  • Katy Perry's Watch It Burn fails to crack the top 40, only making it to 46 this week.
  • Madeon's Victory, Hearts2Hearts' Lemon Tang, and The Pretty Reckless' Dear God all manage the top 40 this week, curious if any of them break the top 20 next week.

Community Spotlights:

  • dylanonfire88 stays as our number 1 Olivia listener this week with 573 scrobbles.
  • ezaxty seems to be loving the album though with 214 scrobbles last week.
  • Freedlight has kept stupid song on repeat, listening 30 times!

Methodology is not perfect and is a work in progress but is designed to account relatively equally for different levels of activity.

  • Olivia Rodrigo continues her absolute domination of the charts this week with a number 1 on every chart.
    • On all 3 charts she breaks the record for highest ever score in a single week, after previously breaking the record on the album and track chart last week.
    • you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love unsurprisingly stays at number 1, GUTS also manages to move up to the top 10 this week. Interestingly SOUR went the opposite direction, going from 20 last week to 38 this week.
    • stupid song takes over at number 1 this week, giving us our third unique number 1 from the album. The rest of the top 13, is unsurprisingly, the rest of the album.
    • my way has a very strong week at number 2 though, ranking as the 12th highest ever score for a song.
    • Olivia Rodrigo moves into the all-time top 20 this week, jumping up to number 19, long way to go to the top 10 though.
    • drop dead spends a 10th week in the top 20, meaning Olivia Rodrigo is now only the second artist to have a song last 10 weeks in the chart.
  • Slayyyter will never go away and finally after 13 weeks of release, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA moves into first place on the all-time chart. Given it's staying power (it's still number 2!), I have no idea how anything will catch this. DANCE..., CRANK and BEAT UP CHANEL$ stay in the top 20 for a 13th week as well. OLD FLING$ enters the top 20 all-time chart at number 19 this week.
  • Kim Petras' Detour moves back up to number 3 this week, as Boards of Canada's Inferno drops down to number 10.
  • Not a single new release makes the top 40 this week on the album chart, which is wild, might be a first.
  • Bebe Rexha's DIRTY BLONDE has a solid second week, moving up to 7th from 17th last week.
  • LE SSERAFIM's ICONIC BY MISTAKE has a big jump this week moving up from number 38 to number 20, only new song to appear in the top 20 this week.
  • Kanye West's BULLY returns to the top 20 this week at number 12, not sure why but big jump this week.
  • Charli XCX's how i'm feeling now moves up to number 14 this week, securing its first ever week in the top 20.
  • Geese Getting Killed which used to be in the top 20 every week finally returns at number 19, and Jane Remover's Revengeseekerz gets it's second ever week in the top 20 this week.
  • Ninajirachi's I Love My Computer and Magdalena Bay's Imaginal Disk both stay in the top 20, for a 22nd week and move up to number 5 and 6 this week. So curious to see which one hangs on the longest.
  • FKA Twigs' On your Mind is the only new entry on the track chart this week, entering at number 37. Haven't listened to it yet but will make sure to check it out.
  • Rebecca Black's Speakerphone is just outside the top 40 at number 53, always had a soft-spot for her, so hope it can make the breakthrough at some point.
  • Black Country, New Road are number 99 in the chart this week, saw them live last week they were great. Just saying

Community Spotlights:

  • dylanonfire88 is our one user to rule them all this week, listening to Olivia, her album and stupid song more than anyone else!

  • Weekly position: Placing in a user's top 10 gives a bonus to an artist with increased bonuses for positions 1-5

Methodology is not perfect and is a work in progress but is designed to account relatively equally for different levels of activity.

  • Olivia Rodrigo absolutely dominates the charts this week with a number 1 on every chart.
    • On the artist chart, Olivia goes to number 1 with the second highest individual week we've seen to date, barely missing out on the all time number 1. Incredibly strong performance.
    • you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love unsurprisingly debuts at number 1 but it does so with the highest score we've seen in the history of the chart, by a pretty large margin as well. GUTS and SOUR also make the top 20 for the first time.
    • the cure returns to number 1 on the track chart for the third week, with the highest score we've seen in the history of the chart. The entire top 13 is taken over fully by Olivia. stupid song and drop dead round out the top 3 with the 6th and 7th highest scores we've ever seen. No album has been able to dominate like that.
    • drop dead moves up to number 8 on the all time chart this week. Curious how much higher it can go.
  • Boards of Canada hold decently well, staying at number 6 this week. Inferno stays in the top 3 but unsurprisingly have all the tracks drop out of the top 20.
  • Ariana Grane's hate that I made you love me  stays number 1 on the not Olivia Rodrigo chart, dropping to number 14 overall. eternal sunshine manages to make the chart for the first time this week, at number 13.
  • Vince Staples Cry Baby moves up to number 5 this week, as he enters the top 20 for the first time at number 15.
  • Death Cab for Cutie's I Built You a Tower holds well, moving up to 6 this week and moving up to 12 on the artist chart as well.
  • Modest Mouse and Evanescence also manage to hold their spots on the top 20 album chart this week.
  • Taylor Swift's I Knew It, I Knew You struggles to do much in its second week against Olivia, dropping down to 16.
  • Slayyyer's BEAT UP CHANEL$, CRANK and DANCE... despite all the competition from Olivia manage to stay in the top 20 for a 12th week. All still vying for the longest time on the chart. WHAT IS IT LIKE, TO BE LIKED? moves into the all-time top 20 at number 19.
  • underscores moves up to number 20 in the all-time chart and U cracks the top 10, moving up to number 9.
  • blink-182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket celebrates its 25th anniversary by entering the top 20 at number 18 this week.
  • Bebe Rexha's Dirty Blonde is the last new entry to the top 20 this week, entering at number 17.

New Charts

I've kept the two new charts added last week and will keep them going forward.

  • Top 60 track chart limited to one song per artist, now we all know In the End by Linkin Park was 217 this week on the track chart!
  • New version of the All-Time chart, this one ranked by overall score. I feel like this one was more representative so going forward going to keep this one.

Community Spotlights:

  • saddez is our number 1 Olivia fan this week with 174 scrobbles total, with 145 being for the new album.
  • ultraviolent69 had the cure on repeat though, listening to it 23 times this week!

Any feedback people have or would like to see in future let me know, let me know thoughts on Community Spotlights and the all time list.

Methodology is not perfect and is a work in progress but is designed to account relatively equally for different levels of activity.

Apologies this will be a shorter write-up week as I'm going to a festival today so need to leave early

  • Boards of Canada move up to number 1 this week as Inferno manages to stay at number 1 on the album chart as well. Naraka moves into number on the single chart this week.
  • Ariana Grane's hate that I made you love me builds on a strong debut last week moving up to number 1 this week, dethroning the cure.
  • aespa's Lemonade - The 2nd Album holds on at number 4 this week, but the title track Lemonade moves up to the top 3 this week. aespa themselves move into the top 10, reaching number 7.
  • Death Cab for Cutie's I Built You a Tower debuts at number 7, that's enough to get them to number 16 in the overall charts.
  • Modest Mouse, Vince Staples and Evanescence also manage to debut in the top 20 this week.
  • Taylor Swift's I Knew It, I Knew You is the only new entry in the track chart this week, entering at number 5. Surprised how low it is, we'll see what it does in week 2.
  • Marina's Princess of Power manages to make the top 40 for the first time at number 32, album has been around forever so good for her.
  • Slayyyer's BEAT UP CHANEL$, CRANK and DANCE... all spend an 11th week in the top 20, beating our previous record, which one will take the final number 1, I have no idea.

New Charts

Two new charts this week, so I'd love some feedback

  • New top 60 track chart limited to one song per artist, people have asked to see more of what is lower down the charts so I hope you all like this one.
  • New version of the All-Time chart, this one ranked by overall score. Previous version was based purely on position, this one better shows how dominant a song or artist is. Would love some feedback on which people prefer or if I should keep both. Some big differences include Ninajirachi's iPod Touch which is 9th if we only use the chart positions but is 2nd if we sum it's overall score across all weeks in the top 40.

Community Spotlights:

  • TalonBX spent the week listening to Boards of Canada's whole discography but also found some time for the new Modest Mouse album.
  • Kingkaiserwil had Inferno on repeat all week with 147 scrobbles.
  • shimishimitin couldn't get enough of Ariana Grande's new song, scrobbling it 103 times.

Any feedback people have or would like to see in future let me know, let me know thoughts on Community Spotlights and the all time list.

r/lastfm Community Chart - 20260524 - 20260530 - Slayyyter finally dethroned

Thanks everyone for the massive amount of interest shown from the community in this chart, the number of users signed up has continued to grow and we're now tracking 723 active members of the subreddit (up from 712!), if you'd like to sign-up please provide your last.fm username here https://forms.gle/SkvJL3PYrhAKjFTc7

Signed up users as of today.

IDK4nym0r3, kylefreeman, Ruisdier, twighockeysas, Chris_wise922, CLOWNSQUARED, RWS1999, anknikos, Jidubose, StreamingSongz , cottonwoodx, Emo_dude_kel, trasheheart, Zachentenmann, mrweista77, Jackson-Giraudi, ladygagalg5, Makaveli096, resq2nik, destons, tiosv118, Jabami7, Hellosteve_

  • Charli xcx holds on to number 1 on the artist chart this week, but not overwhelmingly, failing to make the all time top 20. SS26 stays in the top 3, dropping to number 2 this week. Rock Music drops out of the top 20 all the way to 40 this week. BRAT as always hangs around the chart, number 16 this week, it moves up to number 3 on the all-time chart.
  • Boards of Canada have this week's big release with Inferno, it debuts at number 1 on the album chart and gives them their first week in the top 20, at number 2. 6 songs make the top 20 as well with Prophecy at 1420 MHz leading the way at number 8.
  • Kim Petras has the other big album this week, Detour debuts at number 3 and she joins the top 20 for the first time at number 4. She also managed 6 songs in the top 20, with Need for Speed leading the way, reaching a new peak of 6.
  • aespa return with what I assume is their second album Lemonade - The 2nd Album bring them up to number 11 overall and reaching 4 on the album chart. Lemonade the song, makes it to number 5.
  • Slayyyter's reign on the album charts, finally ends, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA after 9 weeks at number 1 finally drops to 2nd in the chart, but she's not done with records. DANCEE... moves up the all-time chart to number 3, 7 of the top 10 now being her songs. Last week she was the first artist to ever have a song in the top 20 for 10 weeks, now she has 4!.
  • Paul McCartney was the surprise for me this week, his latest album The Boys of Dungeon Lane makes the chart at number 10.
  • Olivia Rodrigo shows good staying power this week, tHe CuRe earns its second week at number 1 holding well and drop dead holds well despite dropping out of the top 3 to 4 this week.
  • Ariana Grane's hate that I made you love me has a strong debut entering the chart at number 2, she moves up to number 6 of the artist chart this week.
  • Gracie Abrams' Hit The Wall showed no staying power, dropping all the way to number 79 in its second week.

Community Spotlights:

  • EminentOne has apparently forgotten other artists exist, listening to Charli xcx 1,903 times in the last week!
  • agusmsk seems to be enjoying the new Board of Canada album listening 84 times.
  • haechbit had Olivia on repeat, they listened to tHe CuRe 95 times last week.

Any feedback people have or would like to see in future let me know, let me know thoughts on Community Spotlights and the all time list.

  • Charli xcx holds on to number 1 on the artist chart this week, with the 4th best performance we've seen from any artist to date. Despite this SS26 only manages to debut at number 2 this week, Rock Music drops to number 6, not showing the staying power of some other tracks we've seen recently. BRAT continues to hang around the top 20 for a 15th week. SS26 does enter the album chart at an impressive number 5, somehow ahead of Olivia.
  • Olivia Rodrigo jumps back up to number 4 this week as tHe CuRe debuts at number 1 this week, securing the 7th best opening we've seen for a song so far. Performance is strong enough for it also to make the album chart at 9th.
  • Drake does not get a second week boost with his 3 albums, dropping down to 5 overall. ICEMAN drops to number 3 on the album chart, Maid of Honour and Habibti both drop out of the top 40 completely.
  • Slayyyter reign on the album charts, cannot be shaken, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA stays at number 1 for the 9th week. With 8 songs this week still in the top 20! OLD TECHNOLOGY is now officially the song that has spent the longest time in the top 20, with 10 weeks. But a lot of the album is right behind it. WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA finally enters the all time top 10, at number 9, feels evitable this will hit number 1. OLD FLING$ enters the all-time top 20 this week at number 17.
  • JPEGMAFIA's EXPERIMENTAL RAP is this week's big release, debuting at number 2 and earning him his first top 20 appearance in the artist chart, making it to number 3. Yen makes it into the track chart at number 8.
  • Bladee's Sulfur Surfer also has a strong debut, entering at number 4 as he enters the artist chart at number 15.
  • Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman enters the chart at number 11, guess that 10 year anniversary really brought people back. She also enters the all-time top 20, at number 20 this week.
  • Michael Jackson seems to be hanging around, moving up to number 6 this week.
  • Genesis Owusu's Redstar Wu & the Worldwide Scourge has a strong second week bump moving up to number 7.
  • Gracie Abrams' Hit The Wall debuts at number 11 this week, thought she might be a little more popular around here but guess not.
  • Radiohead's In Rainbows always seems to be hanging around the chart and this week obviously moved into the all-time top 20 at number 20.

Community Spotlights:

  • EminentOne looks like they have the new Charli song stuck on repeat, listening to her 1,291 times in the last week!
  • Ghosthamster looks like they just discovered Wor$t Girl in America, scrobbling it 149 times.
  • jakem1chael seems to be digging the new Olivia song, they listened to tHe CuRe 29 times last week.

Before we get into this week, let's catch up on the last few weeks

Week of 2026-04-19

  • Noah Kahan gets his first week in the top 20 on the artist chart with The Great Divide debuting at number 4 on the album chart
  • Kehlani also enters the top 20 for the first time with her self-titled entering the album chart at number 5
  • Jessie Ware moves up to number 2 on the album chart in Superbloom's second week, love this album so great to see
  • Slayyyter stays top on both the album and the artist chart with WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA securing its 5th week at number 1, it enters the all-time chart at 19. Slayyyter also enters the all-time top 20 at 18. OLD TECHNOLOGY moves up to number 3 on the all-time chart.
  • Olivia Rodrigo stays top of the track chart with drop dead securing its second week on top, song nearly matches last week's score giving it the third highest week for a song to date.
  • Madonna's new single I Feel So Free enters the track chart at number 5 with her also reaching number 5 on the artist chart.

Week of 2026-04-26

  • Slayyyter continues to hold top position on both the Artist and Album chart, as WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA stays number 1 for a 6th week. OLD TECHNOLOGY moves up to 2 on the all-time chart, as BEAT UP CHANEL$ enters the top 3.
  • Olivia Rodrigo holds the top spot on the track chart for a third week with drop dead but drops off a lot on the artist chart down to 13.
  • Michael Jackson gets his first week in the top 20, jumping to 5th as Thriller enters the album chart at number 7. Guess people went to see the movie.
  • Ninajirachi has a big jump as she reenters the top 20 at 15, as I Love My Computer jumps back to number 3.
  • Metric enter the top 20 for the first time, as Romanticize The Dive moves up to number 8 in its second week.
  • Friko Something Worth Waiting For debuts at number 20, so happy people are listening to these guys, I love them.
  • Another top 20 song for Madonna this week as Bring Your Love enters the chart at number 9.
  • Zara Larsson's Midnight Sun: Girls Trip enters at number 12, curious if this will move up or disappear quickly.
  • PinkPanteress drops out of the top 20 for the first time, meaning only 4 artists have now been in every weekly chart. Charli xcx, Radiohead, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.

Week of 2026-05-03

  • Charli xcx has returned to remind us all who truly owns these charts, returning to number 1 with the release of Rock Music which jumps straight to the top of the track chart, also doing well enough to make number 4 on the album chart. Rock Music has the highest ever score for any track since the chart began.
  • Kacey Musgraves moves into the top 20 for the first time, as Middle of Nowhere moves up to 5 in its second week, and Dry Spell makes it into the track chart at number 14.
  • American Football (LP4) jumps into the top 20 in its second week, reaching number 10.
  • **Muna'**s Dancing on the Wall makes it to 11 in its first week, Lykke Li's The Afterparty and Broken Social Scene's Remember the Humans also make the top 20 this week.

This week's chart

  • Charli xcx holds on to number 1 on both the artist and track chart but Rock Music has a pretty big drop off in week two, not sure if this will have the staying power of drop dead. BRAT continues to hang around the top 20 for a 14th week and has now moved up to number 3 all-time for most weeks in the chart.
  • Drake returns with 3 new albums, which is enough to secure him his first week in the top 20 at number 2. ICEMAN debuts at number 2 on the album chart, Maid of Honour makes it to number 19 and Habibti makes it to number 38. No song from any of the album's cracks the overall top 20 this week. Curious how these all hold up.
  • Slayyyter reign on the album charts, cannot be shaken, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA stays at number 1 for the 8th week. With 6 songs still in the top 20, DANCE... reached a new peak this week at number 3. The staying power of this album is honestly insane. OLD TECHNOLOGY has now matched Stateside + Zara Larsson with 9 weeks in the top 20, would be shocked if it's not clear at the top next week.
  • Olivia Rodrigo's drop dead continues to show staying power staying at number 2 this week, it enters the all-time top 20 this week at number 17. However, the single is not enough to keep her in the top 20, as she drops to 30 this week.
  • Michael Jackson hangs around the top 10 for a third week, movie effect is real here.
  • NMIXX enter the top 20 this week for the first time as they reach number 3 on the album chart with Heavy Serenade, 5 of the 6 songs make the top 20 as well. I know nothing about k-pop but good for them!
  • Muna's Dancing on the Wall and Broken Social Scene's Remember the Humans both have strong second weeks, moving up to 5 and 6 in the album charts.
  • The Lemon Twigs and Genesis Owusu also manage to make the top 20 this week with their new releases.
  • underscores U moves up to 9 on the all-time album chart this week as Do It secures a 9th week on the track chart, making joint top.
  • Zara Larsson's Midnight Sun: Girls Trip does not seem to have much staying power as it drops to 31 this week, and Zara herself drops out of the top 20, all the way to 53.

Community Spotlights:

  • SZ474 led the way with 136 scrobbles for Charli xcx but interestingly didn't listen much to Rock Music this week
  • b12563 continues to have Wor$t Girl in America on repeat, managing another 103 scrobbles this week.
  • mrweista77 seems to be enjoying Rock Music, giving it 22 scrobbles, but wasn't even their top track this week.

Any feedback people have or would like to see in future let me know, let me know thoughts on Community Spotlights and the all time list.
