I had an idea to create a set of setlists that cover all my life (well, at least since I developed musical taste of sorts in primary school). I called it "Years". Thanks to Last fm, I've been able to get all the details for years since 2009. For earlier years I had to find some old burnt CDs, MP3/MP4 players etc. Every playlist contains around 200-1000 songs in them. Thanks to that, I can literally move in time to that particular period and listen to everything I used to listen at that time.

What do you think about it? Thank you, I didn't know whom to yap about it...

(I'm not promoting playlists, I'm not giving a link, I want to discuss the idea)

If you've been scrobbling a while, there's a whole list of these sitting in your history: songs with 10+ plays that Last.fm hasn't counted even once in the past year.

We run a site called ListenLab, and listenlab.fm/lastfm pulls exactly that list from your username. Most-played first, max two songs per artist so one album doesn't eat the whole thing. It reads your charts from Last.fm right in your browser.

The newer thing on there is a Chemistry Test. You send a friend a link and it shows the bands you share and the ones only one of you knows, with the play counts behind every name. Works for a group of up to 12 too, which gets loud in a group chat. Your friend doesn't need an account to open it.

Curious what the long-timers here turn up. What's at the top of yours?

I just started last.fm back in November of last.year (see what I did there?), and I can only really amass to 200-300 scrobbles a week. When I look at my followers, they're getting 1k+ scrobbles per week. Are they sleep streaming? Do they have nothing to do but to listen to their faves? Please help me reach enlightment!

Gooooood morning from a nice 62°F New Jersey!! Ugh, I am so so glad Fall is finally here. I know the majority of you probably like Summer the best but I am so cranky when i am hot and sweaty lol

Y’all aren’t gonna believe this, or maybe you will bc you know me well now, but on Monday, I woke up feeling like crap. I went to urgent care and ya girl had the flu. THE FLU. I’ve never had the flu in my entire life. Bronchitis, yes. Upper respiratory infections, all the time. But the flu?? Nope. I was so sick, I called out of work Monday and Tuesday and slept and rested all day. My goodness.

Anywayyyy, happy spooky season!! Yay I love October, the crisp cool air, Halloween decorations, and just the feeling of magic all around. Do you guys have any favorite spooky season movies?? Mine is Hocus Pocus, a classic. And to me, only the first one exists 😅

My boy Knox came out with a new album Friday and he doesn’t miss EVER!!! So so good.

I can’t wait to see everyone’s!! You can generate this grid by going to https://www.last.fm/labs/album-quilt or using tapmusic.net.

Methodology: Chart is generated using the last.fm data from everyone signed up. Position is determined based on several factors

• Raw scrobbles: Heavy users are weighted down slightly here to prevent one user from influencing the chart too much
• Number of listeners: How many profiles listened to the artist/album/track in the last week
• Weekly position: Placing in a user's top 10 gives a bonus to an artist with increased bonuses for positions 1-5

Methodology is not perfect and is a work in progress but is designed to account relatively equally for different levels of activity.

This Week's Chart

• Tinashe's POPSTAR in its second week, fully takes over and dominates the charts
  • Tinashe herself gets her first week at number 1 with the 11th best week of all-time.
  • POPSTAR moves up to number 1 with the 6th best week of all-time.
  • Tinashe takes over the entire top 11, with Melatonin at number 1 with the 8th best week of all-time. Overall 15 spots of the top 20 belong to her.
• Carly Rae Jepsen's Day and Night holds well in week 3, managing to stay number 2 in the charts, Carly only drops to 2nd on the artist chart too, so holding well overall.
• Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore drops out of the top 3 in its second week, down to 4th. Patient Zero does not improve on its opening and goes from 3rd to 13th this week. Taylor herself drops down to 3rd on the artist chart as Tinashe moves up.
• Ninajirachi and Magdalena Bay finally comes to an end this week (for now) as Imaginal Disk manages to stay in the top 20 for a 37th week. Now watch it reverse next week and them be even again.
• Quadeca's life 1 is this week's big new release and only one to reach the top 20, debuting at number 19.
• Olivia Rodrigo's stupid song and the cure both reenter the top 20, for their 12th and 13th week respectively, as they target the longest running song title.
