Update; no longer cooking my 3 y.o. In scalding water.

Didn’t want to commit this much space but I put the $85 Walmarts pool under the patio and the temperatures are nice and cool. Takes up way more space than I’d prefer but now I can watch the US open while he swims. Pump making a bad rattling sound but still running. Thanks for the tips community.

How to not cook my 3yo?

Got the Walmart special, 30” x 10’, came with a little pump, $85. Put a cover on it. This thing gets dangerously hot, like go to the hospital hot. Feels like a safety risk to even have around, it was 102 today…

Update: had another 102 degree day and took the cover off and it’s in the low 90s which is doable. I’ve got an easy up but I’m afraid it will get mangled if I leave it up on a windy day. I’ll check the marketplace for one of those massive umbrellas but am not looking to buy a new one right now $$$. Thanks for the tips!
