Anyone else try to move to a no subscription?
Thinking of switching to reolink to avoid subscription based
Thinking of switching to reolink to avoid subscription based
Unbelievable and freaky
I never buy the latest gadgets. We are old fashion, thrifty, and live in a safe area. This struck a nerve! Hopefully someone can install one for us.
I recently canceled the Ring service and just have the camera up as a deterrent. But I have started getting ring alerts when nothing is there.
When I had the service it wouldn't even go off when someone was right at my door. There's no way it's going off now on it's own. Is this a scare tactic so you pay again?????
I'm a shared user with advanced access on Ring to my mother's Ring account (main user). If I turn motion detection off on my phone, will it notify her phone? Even if it doesn't notify her, will it record me leaving the house? Does it only turn motion detection off on MY phone or does it do it on her phone (main user account) as well?
Thanks!
I am staying in an airbnb apartment and just heard a clear/ loud ring notification chime. Neither my friend nor I have ever had the ring app/ cameras... it was the chime sound you hear in your phone when theres movement on a camera. There aren't any visible cameras in front of our apartment or the one next door. Any explanations?
We are thinking the sound could have come through the walls... but it was pretty loud/ clear. And it was the iphone camera movement notification jingle, not any camera sound I am familiar with...
Loosing my car storage I’ve had for last 12 years now, 2 of the cars are getting kept and going into a council garage near by.
I call it that so people understand the location and setup most usually are.
There’s nothing near by them, no power etc. and unfortunately no one to keep an eye on them. No amount of door security is going to help if they have 20 minutes to get in undisturbed anyway.
I have thought of getting a Ring Doorbell and putting it inside and should sometime get in the notifications will alert me that someone’s already gone too far and I or a friend can pop down to readvise them.
I know the doorbells battery so that’s easy, I know it needs WiFi for the notification aspect and monthly subscription for recordings.
I had thought of getting a Smarty data only sim for £5 a month. What I can’t figure out is how I make it permanent WiFi and to last as long as Ring doorbell ?
I used to have a WiFi router in my motorhome that ran off 12v (for when not on hookup) but remember vividly it would go on and off all the time, although simple to reconnect I can’t take the chance that it drops out at the moment the doorbell should have rang me.
Thankyou in advance
I installed a new ring doorbell cam today and now that it's dark I noticed that the IR sensors are reflecting off each other and causing a nasty glare, any way to fix that?
My ring camera at home battery is 19% and it won’t let me live view ! Is there away around this . If I reboot the device will it work & will it make some noise so people in my house know it’s watching?
Neighbor commits animal cruelty and harassment throughout the span of months living here, was already reported for it and then escalated further by slashing my tires. Muted section at end where he says my name. He just gets angrier and angrier, tried protecting these community cats and eventually moved due to the nature of all this. While moving this sorry excuse of a person, passes by me and says "bye b****" and states that "I'm gonna continue harming the cats b****". Will upload a second part to this and another one involving another neighbor upstairs who tries to send her ex-husband to attempt to go through my porch, at least what I believe they tried doing. Location: El Paso, TX, 79936
This is a fun one. I understand needing to pee. My child was in the home, which is why I didn't offer going inside.
Ran out yesterday and last night (for the first time ever) there were 2 events overnight?
Just seems like very odd timing that there have been ZERO overnight events until the subscription ran out.
The new doorbell showed up Saturday afternoon. I went to install it and the instructions reminded me it may not have a full charge to charge it before install. It was at 30% Saturday around 7 pm I plugged it in. It’s now Monday 7 am and we’re only at 77%. Is this typical? Ridiculous! I didn’t realize they gave you a 29 day trial period to charge the thing and that’s all it covered?!?
These kids rang my doorbell at 11:15 last night
I live out in the country. One of the things I’ve enjoyed about my Ring camera which I’ve had for five years has been seeing the wildlife that shows up at my front door. I happened to notice that for whatever reason my camera hasn’t picked up any wildlife in almost 6 months. I thought it might have been my settings, but everything was set properly. Today while looking at possibly upgrading my camera, I discovered that Ring now has a Wildlife App. So now Ring wants to charge you $4.99 per camera each month to detect wildlife. That explains why I haven’t been seeing any. That’s stooping low Ring!

Part 2 to neighbor harassment, ended up having to put cameras as his harassment grew and escalated, upon discovering said cameras instead of quitting his stuff, he decides to get angry and throw rocks at and spray the camera and take pictures.
I want to upgrade our battery doorbell so we can have the night vision but since there’s no trade in program directly through Ring what do you do with the old device?
I have roommates and we have a ring. I don’t want one of us getting a text whenever another wants to login. It’s literally a doorbell camera why do we need 2 factor authentication that’s so silly
