Y’all im tired and fed up with these neighbors.

They broke ground on a foundation for a warehouse/shop/garage. Per the zoning and ordinances, any accessory structure over 1,200 sq feet requires a CUP (conditional use permit). Any accessory structure over 200 sq feet requires a LUP (land use permit).

Per the county, they have neither. From my best estimate based on the ground they’ve dug it could be anywhere from 3000-6000 sq feet.

They own a construction/excavation business and are just using their employees to prep the site and eventually build it. There is also reason to believe they will be using this warehouse for their business which is also against the ordinances and zoning. We are only zoned for residential use.

And I am only bringing this point up as it is relevant to them following the laws/ordinances: They are also felons (both the husband and wife) with past and CURRENT cases against them. I understand people can do their time and change, however that has not proven to be true for these NFH.

Their past also makes me reluctant to file a complaint with the county but I’m not sure I have much choice. I guess I’m looking for any advice or words of encouragement from people who have been in a similar situation with a difficult and unreasonable neighbor.

Edit to add: I am a single female who lives alone hence why I am hesitant/nervous to make the complaint using my name.

Edit to Update: the lawyer I spoke with is extremely concerned for my safety if I were to submit a complaint to the county. Either for my personal self or for my property/home given the background of these people. And I think they may be banking on neighbors being scared of them to get away with doing whatever they want. He also reiterated that the county will not do anything unless a complaint is filed with them.

I was quoted $8k to have a basic cattle gate installed at the end of my driveway. Nothing custom, not automatic, just a cattle gate between two 8x8 pressure treated posts.

AI and Google told me I should expect to pay anywhere from $400 for a basic gate to maybe $3k if I was wanting a custom and automatic open gate.

I want to get a simple gate installed on my property. Two 10ft cattle gates between either 8x8 posts or maybe two 10 inch diameter log posts on each side for a bit more style.

About how much should this cost to have done? I will reveal the price I was quoted later on as I want people’s unbiased opinions…

Why does Lowe’s have multiple flock cameras surrounding it?

I’d like to talk to someone who has knowledge and/or experience building dirt roads.

My neighborhood has a private dirt road for people who live in the community and I’d like to learn if it would be considered an “adequate” dirt road or if it needs to be redone and if Gallatin county has an requirements for private dirt roads. Thank you!

Neighbor filed a lien against my house because I filed a complaint to the county for violating a county ordinance.

To be clear, I have never contracted with them for construction work/services and don’t have any contracts in place with them or debt owed to them of any kind.

How is this a valid lien? I am now being forced to hire a lawyer to defend myself and don’t really have the financial means to do so. It really feels like I am GUILTY until proven innocent and not the other way around.

UPDATE: the lien in the county clerk and recorder office is listed as “Right to Lien” can anyone confirm if that is an actual lien?

A lighter hearted AITAH but my neighbor invited me over for a BBQ with a few other neighbors.

They asked if I could bring a side dish. I said “sounds great, I’ll bring a Mediterranean pasta salad if that works!”

They said “someone else is bringing a fresh salad with lettuce from his garden. What about a side dish?”

Now I feel like TAH for offering to bring a pasta salad. Like it comes off as if I’m not trying to contribute enough. And that I’m stupid for suggesting a pasta salad when they asked for a side dish. But my salad wouldn’t have had any lettuce. Just pasta, dressing, veggies, etc. 🙁

My neighbors (husband and wife) are both convicted felons. One for sexual assault of a child under the age of 13. The other for grand theft auto, insurance fraud, and more. Unsure about the PDF File but the theft and fraudster spent 10 years in prison and fairly recently got out.

They purchased a $1.3 million dollar home and own a business. It is unclear to me how they are able to afford such an expensive home so soon after being locked up for a decade but who knows. Maybe more fraud to be uncovered.

They haven’t made many friends in the neighborhood since they completely ruined the dirt road by hauling in heavy equipment to build a gravel parking lot on their property.

They have multiple 7000 lumen motion lights that illuminate their property as well as many neighboring properties as well. Even with my blinds closed and foil in one of my windows I am disrupted by the light almost every night.

It turns on and stays on for 10 minute increments and then will turn off for a few minutes before repeating the cycle over again. Or most recently, they been staying on throughout the entire night.

I have been told the lights are security measures and that they are paranoid someone will come steal and or tamper with their property/vehicles. YES the grand theft auto criminal is paranoid someone will come steal his vehicles. The irony is not lost on me.

I have talked to them once face to face about the lights. It’s been about two weeks now and it has only gotten worse.

What would you do?

I want to be able to have a plan A, B, C, D, etc. to ease my mind. I know I can submit a zoning/ordinance violation to the county (cannot be anonymous) or call my local sheriff but I am also concerned about retaliation as they are felons and don’t have a track record of following the rules/laws and have poor judgement and lack of consideration for others.

I have not included all of their civil and criminal cases but just know there is more.

I was at a relatively remote low use area of the lake yesterday paddle boarding. I didn’t have a chair or blanket set up on the beach but my car was parked right there and was out on the water paddle boarding around when I noticed someone by my car which raised some concern so I started heading back to shore.

When I got back, three adults with three kids came down and started setting up chairs and blankets. I was kind of shocked but assumed all of the other pull outs must’ve had cars at them as well and so they just had to pick a pull out that had a car at it already.

I decided to not let it ruin my time and just proceeded to enjoy my day as I would’ve had they not shown up. Laid on my paddle board, played my podcast, took a phone call etc.

When I left about an hour later, there was not a single other car at any of the other pull outs. Aka miles and miles of beach they could’ve chosen but they decided to set up within 5 feet of me.

AITAH for thinking they should have picked another spot or at the very least walked I don’t know 10-20 feet away from me to set up their spot?

They have their archery bag target set up so unless you are less than 5 feet away from the target you have to shoot an arrow from across the road.

It makes me uncomfortable because I frequently drive, bike, and walk my dog on this road. Is this a safety concern? What do I do, if anything?

Also, it is unclear to me if the target is on land owned by the association/covenant or on private property… if that is relevant.

My boyfriend and I watched his mother’s dog for 5 days while she was away at a wedding.

We planned to meet half way to return the dog which is about an hour drive for each of us.

We met at a restaurant for dinner and to exchange the dog. I assumed she would pay for our meal as a “thanks for watching my dog and driving 2 hours round trip to return her for me!” My boyfriend also indicated that she was paying.

But no, she insisted we split the meal that was $79 total for the three of us. AITA for expecting a free meal in exchange for watching her dog and saving her at least $50-$70 a day at the boarding facility?

I haven’t received my biopsy results yet but I’m already scared about needing a leep or cone biopsy and what that would mean for future pregnancies. If you’ve had either of these procedures have you been able to carry a child to full term?

I am also spiraling because I thought colposcopies were a much more common procedure but I’ve learned only 5-10 percent of women will need one in their lifetime.

Also spiraling because my first colposcopy showed a spot at 10 o clock in 2024 and now it showed spots from 12 o clock, 1 o’clock, 2 o’clock and 3 o’clock which makes me think it is spreading🙁

I was so hopeful because my pap in 2025 only showed ACUS so I thought I was on the right track and healing but I’m now back to where I started with LSIL

I’m equally excited and nervous. Is there anything I should do today to prepare for tomorrow?

I am prescribed and occasionally take adderall for ADHD and they say there is an interaction between them. I have been prescribed and taken Zofran in the past while on adderall and have had no issues. I mainly just want some on hand for peace of mind in case I have an unbearable day of side effects so I’m pretty bummed about this. It also makes me think another doctor like my PCP wouldn’t prescribe either. Any suggestions?

The company I work for is owned by a PE group and my team has been assigned two analysts for the next 12 weeks to work through “value creation” projects aka cost savings initiatives.

How should I handle this experience? So far it seems like they do an analysis and then kind of delegate tasks to us to achieve what they want. I just feel a little hesitant for some reason? The analyst themselves seem very smart, nice, etc. but I dunno something in my gut is telling me it all feels off.

I don’t know if I have trauma from past workplace experiences, layoffs, dramatic changes, projects and tasks that add no real value. Could this be an initiative that they are trying to create value and then sell the company? I should also add I just started one month ago so still really trying to understand my role and how I fit into the big picture.

I was approved to “micro dose” 4mg of the wegovy pill every other day. Has anyone done this? I am concerned it’ll make side effects worse and make me extra hungry/over eat on the days I am not scheduled to take the pill. For reference I am 5’2 140.2 lbs currently
