33/f for anyone | chicago or beyond | five date ideas to get you day dreaming
first things first: i love love! since getting divorced a few years ago, i’ve spent a lot of time working on myself (s/o to my therapist) and learning how i can best show up for my partner + how i want a partner to show up for me. if you want to come along for the ride, please have done some of the work yourself too. we deserve to romance the fuck out of each other in the DINKiest ways. i don’t care where you live or how old you are. that said, while physical attraction isn’t everything, im not going to pretend it doesn’t matter. be prepared to exchange photos sooner rather than later.
also im bisexual and politically left. if you support the current administration, im not the one for you :-)
without further ado…
we meet somewhere neither of us has been before and suggest spend the evening pretending we’re strangers in a new city - choosing a place to eat, getting a little lost, and seeing where the night takes us.
we go to the bookstore near my apartment (my second favorite i’ve ever visited) and wander next to each other. i won’t shut up, pointing out everything ive read and how it made me feel. eventually we separate and pick out titles for each other, hoping to impress the other.
we hit up the farmer’s market too early on a saturday morning. we wander between flowers and fruit, slowly assembling an improvised picnic from whatever looked beautiful.
i drive us to a hidden gem antique store i know while you’re dj. we both pick out tchotchkes for our spaces and you come back to mine to share a joint while we laugh at the weird shit we saw.
we lie on the beach like lizards in the sun, surrounded by all the best snacks and flirt each other’s faces off until it starts to get dark.
