



Request for Goodwill Warranty Support – ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614JJ (MFD: 2023/09)
Hello everyone,
I'm Shubham from Maharashtra, India.
I purchased an ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614JJ on 24 Dec 2024.
The laptop worked perfectly on 3 July 2026. I shut it down normally, but on 4 July 2026 it suddenly became completely unresponsive.
Current symptoms:
No charging LED
No fan spin
No keyboard backlight
No display
No response to the power button
I performed basic troubleshooting, including an EC reset and testing with the original charger, but nothing helped.
After opening the laptop, I noticed what appears to be discoloration near the top-left fan area of the motherboard (photos attached).
While searching for similar cases, I found Reddit posts and YouTube videos where owners of the same model reported similar symptoms and failures. Because of that, I'm requesting ASUS to review my case for possible goodwill support if the diagnosis confirms a hardware defect.
I'm a Computer Science student at IIIT Manipur, and this laptop is essential for my studies and development work. I'm very worried because it's only around 18 months old.
If anyone has experienced the same issue or received goodwill support from ASUS, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.
I bought ASUS laptop over other brands because of it's trust .
