Much needed rant
Using my 10 minute break to write this! Hooray!! Going to be as nondescript as possible so as to keep my shitty job.
I’m PT perishable. Our dairy department sucks. 600 piece truck, high volume store, 2 people, on a Sunday. FT dairy has off on Sundays (yes, every Sunday), he does the order, so he knows how bad it is for us and he doesn’t tell anyone anything. We find out from the invoice the next day. He is lacking in other ways too. I’ve been fighting to get out but they always shove me back in, I have to suck it up because I need the hours and they need the body. Until recently I have been the only person to fill milk & eggs without being told to.
FT frozen guy essentially makes his own schedule. He was late almost every day last year. Usually by at least an hour. The past couple weeks, he’s been showing up 2 and a half hours late. For every shift.
Every department is falling apart in other ways. Theft is rampant and no one knows what the source is somehow. They leave the part timers to pick up the pieces but we’re never rewarded for the hard work. I can’t do what I’m supposed to because I have to finish the world’s most giant truck.
Our SM is extremely passive (nicest way to put it.) Non confrontational. I get it because I’m the same but the store functioning is supposed to be how his work shows. It’s not working. But corporate doesn’t do anything. I’m so tired!
Editing to note that I know I could have it much worse. I’m thankful for my spot and my managers who are for the most part pretty alright. It just sucks.
