Finally got a call back

I applied a couple months ago and finally got a call back. It's the only call I've received on an application after at least 40 applications to other locations (Food Lion and others).

Thought it was pretty cool.

I think my department doesn't care about safety I swear they don't.

Hi, part time produce here.

I came in to my department almost burn my hand against cut fruit warm pad and it's left on. My boss who already left said to me "you could turn it off" I was dead ass about to walk out because of that. This isn't first time these cut fruit people get away with murder like this. It has wrapped our tablet so I am waiting for another tablet of ours to wrapped because lack of safety with that.

My store is open 24 hours, how common is this?

I work at a store in upper middle TN, in Gallatin.

And we are open 24 hours. But I have heard that other stores in my region, are not.

How common is this? And why is it just our location? The city it's in isn't even 60k ppl.

Spectrum 2.4!

This is probably the first time I didn’t have ALL the details. Sorry! Currently, my store Spectrum printer is out of service, and it’s a struggle lol.

My favorite update is re-staging options.

Least favorite is adding a new metric to chart “invoiced on time”. Aka 30 minutes before due time. Literally anyone that works at a busy(ish) store will immediately recognize the conflict. Because we did not receive extra labor or anything. Still have 5 to shop within 30 minutes lol.

Southern Stores vs Northern Stores

Worked at FL for a year and a half and was wondering what employees in the south think of employees in the Northern states. I always heard there was animosity. Is this true? I work in the Delaware area.

Using personal MVP

Is there a specific policy about using your personal mvp for shoppers? My husband asked me this because he was at sco yesterday waiting for me to clock out, ( he was doing an instacart shop and customer mvp was invalid) and the CL instead of using the store card typed in his own personal number. My CSM has preached about using the store card too much(staying below 70%) and I know the idea is to get the customer to get their own, but I’ve never been told otherwise, and it’s never happened before. Just wondering so I can warn him and he can avoid an unnecessary write up or coaching in the future.

Tuition reimbursement?

Hey all. So according to Google, Food lion does $500 for tuition reimbursement for part timers. But I've heard it's actually $1500. Does anyone know how much it actually is? And how hard it is to get approved? Thanks.

Waste of money

I saw these "advertising monitors" a day after they were installed, and it's only been 2 days and it's already out 🤣

I'm not trying to bash Food Lion, but why waste money on useless items such as this? It's just another maintanence expense that's going to cost hundreds of dollars. If Food Lion has money like this to waste why can't they pay us a living wage?

Radios/communicators

I’ve been with the company for 5 years and the radios we have now are no telling how old. They didn’t replace them in this past remodel. We’re down to like 7 radios and absolutely no clips or wires. was just wondering if the new/next remodel is bringing us some new communicators :/

Help finding code ( Deli)

Does anyone know the code for the Sriracha boneless wings? I believe they get sauced, put in a bag, weighed up and go on the grab and go. I can't seem to find any kind of label in the scale for them. Thanks in advance

Cashing out hours

I work at Food Lion in the Greenville South Carolina area and I was hearing rumors that we can no longer cash out any of our PTO and I was wondering if that was true or not cause I normally like to cash out my holiday hours in October

Just wow...

My store's computers recently updated. Pretty sure everyone's did. There have been updates every other week in Compass since the middle of July about the sign software, but I have no idea about the computers themselves. They were updated, and now I can't find anything!

Where are my files? I'm the RPC, and I like to be organized. I have templates made for sign walks, I have a specific 8 page packet I leave for my backup (her request bc the SOE is garbage), I have a list of every section reset for the year for easy reference..... they're gone. All of those and then some. Everything. No warning about deleting anything that wasn't backed up somewhere... nothing. Unless something was communicated to management and no one else - this is BS.

I'm really glad I recently made the decision to work my wage and will no longer be going above and beyond. Aside from my specific job duties, I won't be doing ANYTHING else. No register, no surge for Spectrum, no DSD signage AT ALL, no special instructions, nada.

This company and my store have squashed the spirit of a superstar/go-getter/over-achiever.. and they only have themselves to blame.

- If the file issue gets resolved, I'm leaving this up. The shenanigans of this place know no bounds!

EDIT: I was on vacation when the update was sent out about backing files up. 🙃 Oh well - it certainly helped me give no shits! One less thing they can ask from me

Stepping down

I’m stepping down from a full time position to part time. Does anyone know how this works as far as tuition assistance, 401k, insurance, or any other deductions that come out? Will I need to switch everything over to my new FT job or can I leave it all alone?

Food lion to go

My stores super late to the game. So late that we haven’t started it yet. We’re expected to be running in a few months. Teach me all I need to know. Step by step. Your tips and your tricks. Thank you!

From Perishable to grocery

I left perishable manager to become grocery manager and let me tell you best decision ever perishable is a total shitshow and honestly I should’ve been paid more. Grocery is not bad at all as long as you have a proficient lead stocker. I do struggle with the schedule of closing which is not too bad but it does pull you away from the priority of grocery but all in all I’m satisfied. Can’t believe how much of a headache perishable is vs grocery I was totally wrong.

UKG Pro

Anyone else been having serious issues pulling their schedule since the last UKG update? I've been getting this immediately after entering the phone code, then am sent back to the first screen.
