Mr Tolle stopped me from getting addicted

I went through a stressful period earlier this year. I turned to drinking alcohol and subsequently experimented with smoking cigs. Never been a smoker but could feel the habit forming. Then I stumbled across an Eckhart Tolle video where he says to delay urges. So if there’s anything you want to stop doing, just delay it. If you really want to do it after the delay then that’s ok. Next time delay longer and longer.

Should've let profits run

Entered short at a 50% retracement of an impulsive move. Closed the trade at an extension. In retrospect i should've let profits run further.

Do what you enjoy not just what makes money

The present moment is all there is. If you do reach your dreams of making lots of money it will feel anti climactic and you'll find yourself wondering, is this it? All that work for this empire of dirt. If you do what you enjoy however you will probably do a better job at it. You will also be happier. I am starting to understand the concept of honoring the process and the work not just the fruits of the work.

I followed Eckhart for a few years and a lot of what he says is good. However in retrospect some of what he says can just be more ego. For example here are some quotes by him. 'You are here to enable the divine purpose of the Universe to unfold. That is how important you are!' 'Be the awakened one.' 'Be the buddha' 'you are the body'. 'Be the witness'

I have followed other traditions and yogic teachings. For example the idea that shiva is emptiness. Not to be identified with anything including the body or witnessing presence.
