THE RED FLAG:

in December I was charged for an a year long extension. I grumbled but I didn’t think much of it because I was using the service and it was less than $50/year.

Fast forward to today. I was trying out the fancy new video generator SeeDance 2) they were plugging.. It generated 4 videos 3 of which were cute. TBH I wasn’t expecting 4 videos. I expected. I shrugged about it because I thought I had “All Access” until October or December 2027

I leave AI Studio or whatever it’s called and I see a big banner that says my account is on hold. I click on my account and there is a $20 charge for some AI tokens AND $70 PER MONTH for something. That’s almost TWICE as much as the annual subscription each month. Yet I was supposed to have “All Access” or so i thought.

Ironically, I had just shut down auto pay on PayPal for all merchants except Apple because a DuoLingo subscription ended up on my credit card rather than using my backup account to cover it.

I updated anything that would bill soon ASAP. I didn’t think to update Creative Fabrica because I didn’t expect to be billed by them until 2027. Now I have a big “collections” banner on my screen for something i didn’t authorize.

I noticed a cancellation button for the December charge and it’s “pending”. I am not holding my breath for a refund. That’s sunk cost.

I really don’t want to pay them $80 I can’t afford nor do I want to go to collections. I reached out to customer service, they said to click on a link and that my ticket was closed. I replied back with screenshots telling them, nothing was resolved.
