The Investigation of Lucy Letby

I’m still in the middle of the documentary, but I needed to stop watching just so I can rant.

The neonatal ward was experiencing a high rate of inexplicable infant deaths, and the hospital suspected Lucy enough that they moved her to the day shift, but at no point did they bother installing security cameras???

They couldn’t even be bothered assigning a nurse to shadow her. They just watched as babies started dying during the day, before finally removing her from the ward.

She got caught because the circumstantial evidence was so damning, but the hospital never should have allowed those circumstances to begin with. As soon as homicide was being floated as a possibility, cameras should have been put up to rule out foul play. So many babies could have been saved, but instead the hospital’s strategy was “let’s just let her keep killing babies until there can be no doubt she’s the one doing it.”

It was somehow the scariest movie I’ve seen in quite awhile, and yet also comical. The livestream chat throughout really added a lot of fun to it. 10/10 I do recommend.
