Are my feet too wide for birks?

I have quite wide feet. I can use regular shoes most of the time, but with the birks my feet end up on the ridge. After walking around a bit in the store it's noticeable (as you can see on the red spots on my feet). Will this widen with use, or are my feet too wide for birks?

Brown is 42, beige is 41.

Fit advice

I'm about to get my first pair of birks. Im usually a size EU 41,5 with quite wide feet at 26 cm and 25,5 cm long and about 103 mm at the widest point.

According to Birkenstocks EU size guide that should make me a 40/41.

I've tried on 8/41 (Tabacco Brown) and 9/42 (Black).

The 42 felt huge on my (longer) foot, and the toe ridge came right under my actual toes, not in the gap. I have a hard time imagining walking around in those, especially with my shorter foot. The 41s look a bit small on my long foot, but closer to the birkenstock fit guide video (the foot was a bit pushed forward on the width shots, my bad) and felt decent enough to walk in. It seems to me that I'm a size 41,5...

Thoughts?

Thanks!
