any nurses in here?

I’m a nurse of 5 years and don’t often see many nurses on this subreddit? (Where y’all at?!) We make a decent living, but don’t really talk about finances much.

I wanted to share my stats and start an open forum for us to speak about our pay, goals, etc.

My portfolio currently:

401k 111k
Roth IRA 42k
Brokerage 30k (recently had to sell a good portion of my portfolio for medical/tuition reasons, so sad about how low this is)

No home equity, no debt. $183k net worth. Have a partner, but keep our finances separate.

How are you guys doing out there in the nursing world? There are a lot of super high earners on this subreddit so I want to get perspective from people of similar backgrounds/career paths.

nurse/CS student job offer - BI/Epic analysts pls help!

Hi everyone, I’m a PACU nurse of 5 years and a CS student graduating with my BS this winter. I’m in the running for a Business Intelligence/Epic Analyst role and wanted to ask my community here for advice.

For people in these roles -

Is there much upward growth potential? If so, what would the career ladder look like? This role is at a major hospital system, so I know there are paths to senior analyst roles, but how does career trajectory build from there? Is there much room for contractor/healthtech roles outside the hospital in the future?

What tech stack do you use? Do you often have opportunities for more technical work? What technical projects have excited you?

I’m a very data oriented person. I love working with Python, SQL, etc. I enjoy coding and logic problems in general. Does this seem like a good fit for me? I’m a bit worried that I won’t get much of this sort of technical action that fuels me. At the same time, I can’t wait to dive into healthcare tech and see this as an interesting entry point.

Thanks all for your advice :)
