What's the most reliable car battery brand you've used?

After comparing reviews and warranty data, the names I see most often are:

• Optima
• Odyssey
• Interstate
• Bosch
• DieHard
• ACDelco

For EV batteries, CATL and LG seem to be leading suppliers for many manufacturers.

Personally, I think warranty length and cold-weather performance are more important than brand marketing, but I'd love to hear owner experiences.

Which battery lasted the longest for you? Any brands you'd avoid?

How to dispose of lithium ion batteries

I feel that many people still do not realize just how dangerous lithium-ion batteries can be; far too many people continue to simply toss them into the trash without a second thought. Based on what I know, here are a few safety precautions:

Do not puncture them.

Do not leave damaged batteries indoors; if possible, secure their terminals.

Take them to an official recycling or drop-off center.

It surprises me that—despite the fact that so many devices nowadays rely on lithium-ion batteries—people still pay so little attention to proper battery disposal.

I think it would be helpful if everyone could share some examples of dangerous incidents they’ve encountered, as well as additional safety tips on how to avoid such risks.

Is UN38.3 still a sufficient standard for modern EV batteries?

The UN38.3 standard was designed years ago when cell energy densities were much lower. Now we're seeing 300+ Wh/kg cells being certified under the same framework. Feels like the standard hasn't kept up with the technology. Am I missing something, or is this a genuine gap in the industry?

I previously posted an article about the usage of my mobile phone battery. The gist was that my battery capacity was depleting very quickly. Everyone advised me to replace the battery. Do you have the option to replace the battery for free at the flagship store? Or does it cost something? Or is it necessary to have a specific model to replace it?

My laptop is usually plugged in and charging while I work every day, but I’ve noticed that the battery life is getting shorter. If I go to a meeting and leave it unplugged for two hours, it seems to run out of power. The battery seems to be deteriorating. Do you usually shut down your laptop every day, or do you leave it in sleep mode?

Do you think it’s better to charge it only after the battery runs out, or to keep it plugged in all the time?
