I don’t think I’m satisfied with this
I’m really frustrated because I feel like I can’t find a good orthodontist in my area. After they removed my braces, I still felt like there was a gap in one of my back teeth, so before taking them off I asked for a second opinion from another orthodontist. Even then, the orthodontist who was treating me kept insisting it was time to remove my braces.
The second orthodontist told me my treatment looked fine and that the gap was due to the shape of my teeth. She said I could get my braces removed, so that’s what I did.
I went to my orthodontic appointment and told him I was there to remove the braces, and he said, ‘And why are you suddenly making that decision?’ and I replied, ‘Because you told me to?’
He always had that kind of attitude. I would tell him there was a gap in the back and sometimes he’d say it was because of the shape of my tooth, and other times he’d say there actually was a gap and it needed to be closed. Anyway, I trusted the second orthodontist, and this is the result.
What really bothers me now is that when he removed my braces he said, ‘If you don’t like it, we can just put them back on and start another treatment.’ Like… as if I’m the orthodontist and I’m supposed to know what my teeth need. I was honestly shocked.
Then I got home and my mom asked if it was normal for people to have such separated teeth. I assume that was directed at me, because she was complaining about how my front teeth looked too separated and big. I’m showing the result here. Another doctor who works there told me he could do bonding on my front tooth because it’s chipped, but yeah, I do feel like my front teeth look separated and it frustrates me because nobody was capable of telling me.
Can someone tell me honestly if that’s true or if it’s just my impression? Would bonding help make it less noticeable, or what could I do?
