First time buying a console from EB Games. Is the product replacement plan necessary, especially on top of manufacturer warranty?

Like the title says. I take good care of my consoles, only asking since it's my first time buying a console in Canada and I'm not sure if it's worth the extra 70 or so CAD. Thanks!

Desperately looking for part-time jobs. Need help. Need guidance.

I graduated with a Master's in Electrical Engineering from U of C. I'm an international student. I have a PGWP in processing and have the right to work full-time or part-time till November or till the IRCC makes a decision about my PGWP. I'm looking for a part-time or a temp job just to earn some bread before I start full-time, whenever that happens. I have been applying nonstop through LinkedIn, Indeed, and direct company websites. I've signed up at three different staffing agencies. I haven't heard back from anywhere. Not even an interview. I know this is just how the job market is right now, but I expected to at least make it to one or two interviews.

One thing I haven't tried is handing in my resumes to job sites directly. I have crippling social anxiety, so the prospect scares me, and I've avoided it thus far, but now it may be my only choice. Is it a thing that works? I've read online that it doesn't really help. I've heard that you need connections to land any job anymore, something I don't have.

Any advice or guidance is appreciated.

Inland TRV stuck in security for 4+ months. Can I just submit a new application?

I applied for an inland TRV in early February and it's been stuck in security/background checks ever since. Eligibility and criminality have passed, but security is still in progress with no ETA.

Has anyone submitted a second TRV application while the first one was still being processed?

Did it help or make no difference?

I'm mainly wondering whether IRCC will process the newer application along with the older one (whenever that happens) or if it will create additional delays.

Any experiences would be appreciated!

Inland TRV stuck in security for 14+ weeks, getting anxious.

Here's context and timeline:

  • Feb 2: Applied for inland TRV as study permit holder
  • Feb 3: Submission confirmation
  • No biometrics required, no medical and no ADR
  • MP office confirmed the following:
    • Eligibility passed
    • Criminality passed
    • Security in progress (final step, apparently)
  • Called IRCC multiple times, and every time I'm told that background check is still in progress with no ETA
  • Submitted 4 webforms so far and only received boilerplate responses. Of course.
  • Applied for GCMS notes on May 10
  • As of May 15: still no movement

I’m an international student and I finished my Master’s degree at the University of Calgary in April. I have urgent travel planned for June but can’t commit to buying tickets until I'm sure about my TRV.

I applied for PGWP and am currently on implied status. My study permit expires August 31, 2026.

The main things I’m trying to figure out are as follows:

  • Has anyone else been stuck in security this long for an inland TRV, and did it eventually just clear on its own?
  • Did anything actually help move the file?
  • Is submitting a second TRV application before GCMS notes arrive a terrible idea?
  • If IRCC issues the TRV before my PGWP is approved, is there a high chance they only issue it until my study permit expiry date (Aug 31)?

Would especially appreciate hearing from other international applicants or anyone who went through long inland security delays recently.
